I'm back from a break!

After taking break for a month, I'm back listing items.  During my break I edited my descriptions and other details.  I've started by listing my destinations and travel titles.  Go take a look!

Have a great weekend!

Relay for Life & Scrapbooking

Good Morning everyone!  (Is it really morning???)

I am a Relay For Life team captain.  Last night was our All Night Walk. Since I had to work this morning, and I have a wedding to go to this afternoon, I only stayed until 2am.  When we left, things were still going strong...of course the teens had alot more energy and enthusiasm at that point than the adults!  I have designed a Relay For Title and will post it in my store this week for those of you who also walk for the cure.

If you're not familiar with Relay for Life, it is an international team event that raises money for the American Cancer Society.  Teams raise money all year, and ending with an All Night Celebration to remember Survivors, Caregivers, and those who have lost their battle with cancer.  The money raised stays in your local community to help with grants, research, and services for cancer patients.

Have a great weekend!  (Boy do I need a nap!)

Modern Conveniences

WOW!  I didn't realize how much I would miss my computer until it was in the shop.  I suppose we take alot of things for granted now a days....like cell phones, etc.  While my computer was gone, I always felt like something was missing or out of place.  Because alot of my work involves my computer, I was a "dead duck" for 3 days.  I couldn't use my cutter to do titles, and I couldn't email or post to message boards.  I made a ton of premade scrapbooking pages though!!!!  If you come to a crop where I'm vending this fall, "The Basket" will be full.

Of course when I got my computer back on Tuesday, I had lots of catching up to do.  I filled my orders and did some custom titles that people had ordered.  Then I worked on my ebay store, emails, and message boards.  It's Thursday, and I'm FINALLY getting around to updating my blog....whew!

My printer still isn't working, but I'm hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that I will have the figured out before the weekend.

Here is a layout that I did for a class.  I used the Stretch Your Imagination and Doodlcharms Cartridges.  Is anyone interested in the kit?  If so, I'll list it in my ebay store.

Blow the dust off of your Cricut!

Come on gals, blow the dust off your Cricut and get chirping!  You can make this cute card out of leftover scrapbooking paper.

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x231/pammy4ever29/cupcakecard.jpg

The Cupcake is off of the Doodlecharms cartridge (one of my favs!).  I cut it at 4 1/2" in tan.  Then I hit shift and cut it again in the coral polka dot paper.  You can get 6 of these out of a sheet of 12x12 paper.  Use some for cards, some for scrapbook pages, and give some to friends!

The base of the card is 8 1/2" x 11" cut in half, then folded.  (You will get two cards out of an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper.)  The polka dot background paper is 4" x 5 1/4".

Come on girls, I know you have papers scraps that you're dieing to get rid of.  You can do it!!!!!

My Ebay Store is Off and Running!

I can't believe that summer is almost over :(  Two months ago I started the Ebay Store adventure.  My daughter was just getting out of school and wanted to make some summer money, so she became my "Listing Specialist".  She took and edited pictures and listed many of the items that are currently in my store.  After reading tons of information on message boards and in books, I found a few things that needed to be tweaked.  I still have some listings that aren't 100% to my liking, but when I look back on what we've accomplished, I'm really pleased.

Sales have been good.  I'm learning about driving more traffic to my store and how to make the listings more attractive.  This has been a learning experience, that's for sure!  My daughter goes back to school in just two weeks.  I'm really going to miss her...not just the help that she gave me, but also all the laughing that we did this summer! Thank you to everyone who has shopped at my store...both my brick and mortar store and my ebay store.  I still have lots of things to add, so mark me as one of your favorite sellers.

Take time each day to do something silly!

Getting Started...Why do I Scrapbook?

Many years ago a friend tried several times to get me to go to a scrapbooking home party.  I said, “Thanks, but I just don’t think it’s something that I’d enjoy.”  Now, almost 10 years later, I own a scrapbook store!  Crafts have always been a love of mine, and when I discovered the wide variety of supplies available for preserving my family’s memories, I was hooked.

Why Do I Scrapbook?

1.      I love having my pictures in albums instead of thrown in a box.

2.      This is a hobby that I can enjoy with my mother and daughter.

3.      Looking through my albums brings back lots of memories.

4.      I have made so many friends and met lots of interesting people.

5.      I like having names, places, dates, and stories with my pictures.

6.      I like knowing that future generations will look through my albums.

7.      I loved the look on my son’s face when he looked through his album for the first time.

8.      It touched me when a friend and customer told me about the albums she did for her brothers, sister, and stepfather for Christmas.

9.      I like how there are always new papers, stickers, die cuts, and eyelets coming out.  With all of the new things, you can never get bored.

10.  It’s a relaxing hobby and a great way to unwind with friends.

Here's a tip for getting started...

Where do I start?  Start with your most recent pictures.  It’s too overwhelming to sort through 20 years worth of pictures.  Another option is to do a theme album from a certain event.  Pictures from a vacation or party.

If you already scrapbook, post a comment telling me why!
