Ebay / Turbo Lister "Upgrades"Posted Mar-13-08 16:52:16 PDT Updated Mar-13-08 16:57:45 PDT I was going to do my second blog on feedback. But yet another "upgrade" to ebay has me perplexed...I dont use the fixed price listing that often. It just doesnt suit my needs. So when I checked my item after listing I see it has item specifics. I never asked for that. So my plea to ebay. "I get you want to have a standardized item listings". But for collectibles... There are so many little things... You can never be accurate with your one size fits all approach. I personally dont want to spend the time filling this stuff out twice. My listings are very informative and complete. And believe it or not, I get some of my best deals when buying because people dont have a clue what they have. Sure the information is out there, they just dont bother to look. But now you are going to be making it even more complicated. Becasue you cant come close in the categories I deal in. I sent an email to ebay this morning when I re-re-re-edited my one listing affected by this. See Hockey is what I specialize in. Well within just hockey things can be different than in Baseball or Football collectibles. So the one size fits all approach isnt going to work. Its all about licensing and unions and who owns what brand or product. Bottom line, the way you have it now you cant list things correctly. So whomever thought having this item specific thing for everything? Re-think it. PLEASE! Make it voluntary. And let us decide where to place it in the ad. My ads are complete and informative. But arent full of mistakes like your pasted in look. And as I said, I dont want to have to enter this information more than once. My system works great. I dont need, "Your Help". But the bottom line for all ebayers on this. A one size fits all approach will not work for the collectibles market. Daily goods, ok sure. DVD's Books, Back Issues of Magazines. Yeah ok I can see that. Its all pretty standard. But collectibles? There are variables upon variables. US version, European version, North American Version. So many variables I couldnt list them all. So please cut this from the "New Improvements". You cant possibly keep up with the new releases. And in the Sports card world, some things arent even disclosed until years after the release. So accuracy is just right out the window. Now a plea for a return to the ACTUAL title of an item in the end notices win! Having all the emails be identical as a buyer and seller "You won". Even seperated into folders? Its impossible to keep track. At the least put the item # into the title. At least that makes the listings searchable. Its still difficult, but easier. Though having the email back to the way it was a year ago would be preferable. If you dont sell, you may not be aware of it. But the contact information that used to be provided at the end auction notice emails. Is no longer made available. And for those who say request it? I did, I requested some information from ebay the first week of February. I still havent gotten my request fullfilled! And no its not my email, I dont use email filters, I didnt change a password it isnt me, its ebay. So anyone from tech trying to push the blame off on all us Users. Its ebay, not us. Next blog, wont be feedback, but probably the "new Paypal upgrades" If you havent used it for a day, try it... Yep they are messing with that too!!! |
