Most Recent Posts Current HappeningsPosted Apr-16-08 12:23:17 PDT I have always loved sewing. Growing up I was taught how to sew by both my mother (who sewed just about everything we wore) and at school. I don't think they teach these type of things anymore - like home economics, cooking and sewing. Such a pity as far as I'm concerned because I think it teaches you the value of money and making things yourself. To this day I can barely face the cost of buying clothes that are new. I have other options. So I'm trying to pass on those options to others and hope that one day some of these "old fashioned values" will lead others to a great sense of self. Over the past few years I have collected so many things related to the things I love - vintage sewing and kitchen items. My collection has grown to be quite a load and with a major move facing me this summer, I must weed out a lot of stuff. I'm hoping that my passion of these old things is shared by others and that I can pass on my treasures to others who will love them as much as I do. Vintage aprons and apron patterns are one true passion for me. I have a small collection of aprons that just bring me joy to look at. The apron pattern collection must be over 200 by this point in time. One of these days I will actually count them. Baking is another passion of mine. Along that line I also like to decorate cakes. Cake pans are something that I have a large quantity of. Chocolate suckers (lollipops) are another love...must have several hundred of them too! It is a never-ending source of wonder just how many things I can actually fit (read cram) into my garage. It is so organized, but boy is it crowded in there. The time has come to take stock of these things that are just waiting to find new homes and pass them along. I'm sure there are lots of other people out there who share this love of vintage things like I do. You are welcome to view my auctions frequently and see what awaits. Onward and upward... |
