Help Please w/ Auctiva ProblemPosted Jun-24-08 11:23:49 PDT I just opened my store a week or so ago- it's quite possible I am missing something obvious- when I create a listing with auctiva I want to add a link to my new store. I thought that I was by using the option of adding a custom link in their template. I just checked a couple of my items & the link to my store doesn't work. Anyone have an idea about what I could be doing wrong? Both my address as the return and the buyers address is entered correctly, double & triple checked. Is anyone else getting this message? Should I just assume it's a glitch & try again in a few hours? Today started off pretty sadly. My step grandfather passed away. We were expecting the call, he was well into his 80s and had had several strokes this past year. I guess no one is ever ready for the passing of a loved one, even if you know it's coming. Funny things have been happening all day since getting that call though. An incrediable deal on some wholesale products quite literally fell into my lap. (among other reasons I was holding off starting an ebay store because I didn't have quite enough products to list yet- now that's changed). Then I got a dress-makers dumbie for FREE! I've been wanting one for over a decade, but they're pretty pricey and I just couldn't justify the expense. Free is an awesome price :) It just seemed that the universe was giving me some loud & clear green lights to move forward and open my store. So I took the plunge & did it- if it doesn't work out well, I can always close it. Add me to your favorites (pretty please) and watch for all sorts of cool stuff soon... Ugh. Considering I only sold about a dozen items in that time frame, it sucks even more. I'm just wondering how long do you wait before reporting it? I have sent these non-buying-buyers two reminders, and haven't had a response- I think it's been a week for one and 5 days for the other. My first pulled auction!Posted Jun-05-08 06:49:54 PDT I had an email this morning that one of my listings had been pulled :( It was for using the words "like new" to describe a book. Blah. I had just read that that's not allowed & why, but forgot that I used that term to describe this book. It seems a bit silly, especially with book. If a book has been read once, it often still looks brand new- 'like new' seems like an accurate way to describe the condition to me. Eh- I've removed the words & relisted it. Starting to feel better & thinking out loud...Posted Jun-04-08 09:40:53 PDT I'm in much less pain than I was yesterday. The swelling is going down, and I can walk with just a minor limp now. I'm going to try to take it easy again today, not an easy task with 7 month old who thinks she can walk already! Has everyone seen the two negative articles about ebay today? In a nutshell one was about online auctions being a dying fad, the other was about a court decision against ebay (selling fake designer bags). Yet more cons to put on the list of should I open an ebay store. Every time I think I am ready & that I am going to do it as soon as I have some free time to set it up; I come across yet another reason to reconsider. I haven't quite completely talked myself out of it, but I am pretty close. I think I'll continue to shop here, and continue to sell some stuff here while I go back to the drawing board to figure out what to do next with my professional (and I use that word so loosely) life. |
