Ebay's Digital Delivery System Makes ModificationsPosted Aug-22-06 08:21:02 PDT Updated Aug-22-06 13:54:39 PDT Ebay modified the requirements Ebay modified the requirements when selling your Digital Delivery Items using their Digital Delivery System. In prior Ebay Blog statements I provided explanation on requirements to list and sell Digital Delivery Products using Ebay's Automatic Delivery System. One of those requirements was to list with Paypal as the processing payment and to also require immediate payment. Ebay has made changes to those requirements as of August 21, 2006. You now are able to list your Digital Delivery Products in Ebay's 'auction-style' including the auction with (BIN) Buy It Now as well as their 'Fixed Price' format. Additionally, you are not required to list your product with Ebay's 'Immediate Payment' option. However, Ebay still requires payment to be with a "credit card or balance transfer through PayPal'” processing. Yes, it is true... Ebay's 'Immediate Payment' option has prevented some of my buyers from purchasing the Digital Products I list and offer. However, I also can add that using the 'Immediate Payment' has also been a positive approach to offering my items. MORE ABOUT EBAY’S ‘IMMEDIATE PAYMENT’ There are always positives and negatives to most events and or transactions in reality and this is no different. By using Ebay's 'Immediate Payment' option I have eliminated the need to request Final Value Fee Credits when Buyers did not pay for Items they purchased. Another positive to the 'Immediate Payment' option is that your item is not taken off the listing unless it is paid. On occasion, errors are made by buyers and by purchasing more than one item (when not using 'Immediate Payment') a Seller is losing the listing that someone else could buy thereby experiencing the expense fees to list and the loss of payment. This error is not eliminated 100%. However, when a payment is required at the time of purchase, a buyer tends to read a little more of the content thereby reducing the error of duplicate purchase 99% of the time. This is my experience. EBAY’S COPYRIGHT RULES FOR DIGITAL DELIVERY ITEMS The rules and requirements have not changed for the very strict copyright laws Ebay enforces which prohibits selling digital items that you did not create yourself or are not a copyright owner. If you are interested or if you are already selling Digital Products, you should review Ebay’s Frequently Asked Questions and their information about selling digitally delivered goods at Ebay’s Digital Items information page. CREATING YOUR OWN DIGITAL PRODUCTS It is my very strong opinion that you should consider creating your very own Digital Product and sell it using Ebay’s Digital Delivery System. You can learn more and Discover Professional, Powerful and Quality Products that make it simple for anybody to get started in E-book Publishing at the following link: CREATE YOUR OWN EBOOKS. You can also learn more about Re-selling others Digital Products at the following link: ONLINE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO SELL DIGITAL PRODUCTS? I do not believe there is a best way.. I have experienced high sales in both the Auction Style and the Digital Delivery listings. I tend to lean more towards the ‘Immediate Payment’ and Digital Delivery ‘fixed-price’ format for the reasons noted above. It is simply easier to list the product and let Ebay deliver it once the product is paid. It is probably one of the best businesses to be enjoying the benefits and rewards from listing your Digital Products. I will keep you up-to-date on any additional modifications or announcements Ebay provides. Kindest Regards, B. Robert
