WHY CREATE YOUR OWN EBOOK?Posted Sep-17-06 12:51:40 PDT Updated Sep-19-06 15:05:54 PDT WHY CREATE YOUR OWN EBOOK? If I were to guess, I would say you have some or even a few special interests and skills. The probability you are reading this from eBay links or references is about 99%. That most likely means you have an interest in buying and or selling on eBay. Let’s assume in this article (report), you have a flair for buying and also selling on eBay. As an example, let’s say you are selling items from your household. You got your first experience in selling on eBay when you listed an old clock you had around the house that did not work.. You listed it on eBay.. and to your surprise in 1 day you had a bid. Over the next 3 days you had a total of 10 bids and it sold for a great deal more than you expected. Your interest and incentive to sell on eBay again had you looking at everything in your home with the thought of, “I wonder how much that would sell for on eBay?” You searched your closets and cabinets to see what you could come up with to list and to sell it on a 7day auction. This time, you found some old records packed away that you never wanted anyway. That is why they were packed away.. You cannot even remember how you came by them because you don’t even like to listen to them.. You listed the old records on eBay, and once again you were surprised at the response for records that you did not even want. You had over 25 bids, and the records sold at a premium price because the bidders kept on bidding. WoW, you definitely were ready to list additional items. However, you could not continue to reduce your household to empty tables, shelves, closets and cabinets. Your kids wondered where and how all their video games on the shelf disappeared. Your husband no longer could find the tools in his toolbox that you thought he did not use any more.. “Uh oh… I sold them on Ebay”; you explained adding that you thought he wasn’t using them. After all, you did take only the tools that were at the bottom of the toolbox. Over time, you researched and learned how to purchase items for less and then sell them for a higher price. You husband and kids were grateful, because they expected the coffee tables in the house to be sold on eBay because you were not too keen on them anyway.. Now to the question that started this article. Why create your own eBook? And, what does creating your own e-book have to do with how you started off buying and selling on eBay? I am getting to that… but… First, let me comment that there are many reasons for writing and creating your own eBook. However, I will discuss this time only two in this article because there is a limitation on the total word count. One of the reasons to create your very own ebook is to share communication. Availing others of important facts that will educate and teach are strong incentives to share information. Or even if you create a fictional story that can bring many enjoyable hours to others, is a great benefit to you and someone else. I mean, think about how Harry Potter turned the literary world on fire. There is a good example of magic in story telling for you. It is not possible to list every possible category, but you now get the point at issue. You have something to share with others, and that is one of the most important and best reasons for creating an ebook. Another reason for creating an ebook deals with the buying and selling on eBay. It is very likely to bring you additional income. There are millions of users on eBay and every one of those users has a story and or information that should and can be made available to others that also use or visit eBay. For example, I see the selling of incense sticks. I know because I buy them. And, I have found some great bargains and quality products. However, there is some difficulty in my always having to go back up on eBay to view the entire (voluminous) collection. I mean, there are pages and pages, I have to start searches on to look for the item I want to purchase. Now, once again you ask…. What does that have to do with creating your very own ebook? Ok, I will tell you.. I have wished at least 20 or more times that this seller whom I like to buy incense sticks from had an eBook, I could download on my Windows or Mac Desktop to view the items I intend to purchase in the future. It is not a difficult process to set up a catalog in a format like a web page (which can be done through a click of technology) or in a PDF format to be read also on a Mac computer. Then, when I had time to access the information in the catalog, I could quickly go to my computer desktop and click either once or twice, and, voila, the list of incense sticks could be at my fingertips in a flash. Now that is a great incentive to write your own eBook if you want to sell items on eBay.. Additionally, you can set up links to your eBay listings to automatically allow the (potential) buyer access to the items for a quick purchase. Ah… but.. you say.. you do not sell incense sticks. The items you sell are always changing. An eBook on the Computer Desktop of a potential or repeat buyer would not suffice in your situation due to an ever-changing catalog. How wrong you are…. I update my eBooks all the time.. The repeat customers have only to click 1 time or 2 times and access my updates from the convenience of their rapid access desktops. It is easy enough to achieve all that I have mentioned.. The reason creating ebooks is not difficult, is because computer technology linked with the Internet makes information microwavable. (Instant (almost) access). I will discuss the opportunities in creating your ebooks in further blog postings. However, I am currently at my word count quota in this article. I do hope your interests are somewhat sparked, and you will think very seriously about creating your own ebooks.. There is so much to say and so much to write about.. The beginning is the hardest. And, even though accomplishing this is not difficult, I did not say, you will not have to learn specific steps. Anything worthwhile and of value is only a step away from learning how to achieve its resolve. Kindest Regards, B. Robert |
