Seller Feedback Left For Others

With EBay no longer allowing sellers to leave neutral or negative feedback for buyers it is a good and bad thing at the same time.

Good because 1) I've seen some crazy feedback; people leaving negatives saying things like prompt payment etc and 2) too many nasty folks leaving negatives for neutrals. Neutral feedback doesn't hurt your score but it doesn't help it either, so people who leave negative for neutral are just evil if you ask me. 3) It keeps people from being burned by bad sellers; you know the ones that take your money and give you crap in return or nothing at all. (Those folks don't even deserver to be called sellers thief is more the word for them.) While negative feedback leaves a nasty mark on anyone's report card it can be particularly damaging if you are new and an honest customer.

Bad because: 1.) While I don't want to be burned by some jerk seeing what kind of feedback sellers leave for people gives me an indication if I want to deal with them or not. 2.) For the honest seller who encounters a non-paying bidder there is no way to let other people know their experience with that person. While one less bad point compared to the good these are pretty significant things. So overall my reaction to this decision is neutral for the time being.

Neturals will hurt your sller performance ratings which will hurt a seller when it comes to best match.

i have seen some bloggers who have two accounts. one for selling and one for buying. that way if they have to leave a seller negative fb the seller cant buy something from them and then neg them.

Neutral is neutral it does nothing to up or lower your score so don't see it having any affect on search results. Besides that neutral gives a means for people to leave honest feedback. Sellers sometimes miss the mark, but while that may be so it doesn't mean the experience was a total let down. If a buyer doesn't feel exactly satisfied with a seller, but not exactly displeased it would be a shame if the only options they had were giving them either a positive or negative neither of which reflected their experience or opinion.

Two accounts- Personally I think it's a good idea for EBayers with a store and want to keep their "business" account separate from their "personal" one, but as far as feedback goes it seems a bit overboard to have two accounts just for the sake of avoiding negative feedback as a seller or a buyer. Still, it's not like I'm against the idea since there are some crazy people just handing out negatives on a whim.
