Good eBaying

sellers are ebay employees

DSRs now have such an impact on sellers' businesses, they are an integral part of our business structure. Because we're working so hard to meet eBay's standards instead of our own, we should be converted to eBay employees and given the same salary and benefits.

And, I now pay the same price for lower-placement listings than sellers with higher DSRs do for higher-placement listings. The placement is driven by DSRs, an invention of eBay. eBay says to improve my services, but they're already fantastic. It's eBay's stupid rating system that drives my listings down. I did nothing to decrease my listing placement. eBay did it all. Before this stupid system, my listings had the same chance as everyone else, and my service was still better than most sellers'. Now my service is still better than most sellers, but my listings receive lower placement.

eBay, read my lips. My service has been nothing less than fantastic, from 99.6% feedback to 100%, from 5 DSRs to 4.6. Nothing has changed, except your system and requirements. So don't tell me to enhance my service until you enhance yours.

Thank you!!! You must have been reading my posts declaring us Ebay employees with sales targets to meet! Now I want the benefits - the health care - maternity leave - 401K program, etc. If I am going to work to their specifications, I want their benefits too!!!!

This is a good post.I suggest a letter writing campaign by well meaning sellers with well thought out ideas like this.If supported with facts and stattistics,I think it would have a big influence.Unfortunately most just complain in the form of a temper tantrum causing no change.

How about a union? Unions have slowed down negatives of many abusive employers. Negatives such as in the early 1900's when Pinkerton bullies worked for employers and beat protestors with bats and worse. HOWEVER, Once unions get established they will abuse their powers just like the man, but the man will always find a way to fight back. Always remember to be fair.

If anyone knows how to actually write to eBay, let me know. I tried it. I sent a 23-page letter to eBay via Priority Mail. A while later, I received an email saying the letter would go no further than the customer support department, which means essentially it will go nowhere but to the trash bin.
