A Poison peek-a-boo to YOU! Now won't you peek-a-boo me too?

Teens and driving

My daughter wants me to teach her to drive when she gets back from California. She'll be 16 and I said 'yaya ok'...She'll definitely be taught to drive when she gets back. I just didn't tell her the EXACT time. :) I don't think she's ready. I personally IMO, don't think any teen who is 16 is ready for a permit. I think this law needs to be changed and the drivers permit age should be 18. Oh, I can hear some people already...how they gonna get to work..wawawa..PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION! Remember that????

Let me explain why I think my daughter isn't ready for a permit. It's one reason. She can not put her cell phone down for 5 minutes. She has to look on her phone to see who has texted her. Drives me crazy.

IF the age stays at 16 (or 15), then there should be a clause that NO TEEN can use a cell phone while driving. Not just teens either but I'm just talking about them right now. They ARE good for emergencies.

But come on! My teen does not need to see who is texting her while she is merging onto a freeway. It's a distraction.

She still calls me mommy sometimes. Cute ya but not very adult. She has trouble with what little responsibility I give her let alone put her behind the wheel.

Maybe I'm a big ole meanie. SO WHAT! Raspberry tongue.

So what's your view on this? anyone?

GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!! WOOWOOWOOOO ohohoh ant on my leg ant on my leg

MY DAUGHTER 15 JUST GOT HER PERMIT. I CAN'T TAKE THE STRESS SO MY HUSBAND WILL HAVE TO TEACH HER. I WISH THE AGE WAS 16 NOT 15 BUT HERE IN THE PEACH STATE THEY DO EVERYTHING EARLY.

HEY SHE CALLS ME MOMMY TOO WHEN SHE WANTS SOMETHING OR NEEDS A HUG. I KIND OF LIKE THAT. BELIEVE ME THEY GROW UP WAY TOO FAST.

WOULD THAT BE A RED ANT? BE CAREFUL IT DON'T BIT YOUR BUTT LOL

In VA, a parent has the right to oppose a child's wish to drive...a parent also has the right to seek revocation of a license or permit till the age of eighteen, no explanations necessary......

Mine were allowed to drive when they got a job and could afford their portion of the insurance, pay for their own cell phone AND keep their grades up....not before....

I am soooooooo with you.
I have a 16 year old boy who won't be ready for at least another 10 years if he doesn't grow up alot.

So your a meanie........big deal.....I'm a meanie too. Actually mine isn't harrassing me to even take drivers ed. I told him last year, that if he was interested in taking it, that he would have to go to the office and get the information for sign up, that I was not going to do it for him.
So far he just hasn't inquired about it. Good for me and good for the world....lol

Well I have to admit, she DOES keep her grades above a D, she DOES have (or had before summer) a job and she knows she has to afford her own insurance. I guess she is pretty responsible if she can do all that huh? good kid...

As far as the mommy goes, it's cute sometimes but I just don't want her friends making fun of her if she has a slip of the tongue :)

OH AND...a friend of her's mother said SHE would teach my daughter to drive. HA! My daughter came home and said so and so's mom said she'd teach me and I'm like WHAT????? um, no. Pissed me off that the woman would even suggest it.
