Superchips Announces New Ford Cortex Firmware Including Advanced Data AcquisitionPosted Jul-23-08 06:59:58 PDT Updated Aug-20-08 07:43:56 PDT Superchips Announces New Ford Cortex Firmware Including Advanced Data Acquisition
The new Ford Cortex firmware includes basic data acquisition such as distance logs and performance times (0 - 60 and ¼ mile). New firmware features also include advanced data monitoring of engine vitals such as RPM, speed, temperature, and O2 sensor readings. The firmware is the initial release of the data acquisition software suite that will eventually become the PowerLOG, PowerWATCH, and PowerSYNC performance softwares of the PowerPAQ Software Suite which are expected to be available in all Cortex and Flashpaq performance programmers in the next few months. The PowerPAQ Software Suite will work on the innovative Cortex (all applications) and best-selling Flashpaq (all applications). Flashpaq is the best-selling programmer that delivers street busting horsepower or maximum torque for more towing power. Cortex is the latest innovation in a long line-up of world-class Superchips performance programmers and combines all of the features of the Flashpaq, adding to it the industry's first two-year powertrain warranty and OEMFLEX tuning, all in a compact, user-friendly programmer. Upcoming Superchips PowerPAQ Software Suite PowerLOG (full release Fall 2008) software provides data logging capabilities including: timed runs, 0 to 40 through 0 to 70 MPH, last run history, best speed and times history, and 60 foot through ¼ mile logging. PowerWATCH (full release Fall 2008) software advanced data monitoring capabilities supporting vehicle Parameter IDs (PID) including: air and fuel data, mass air flow rates and temperature, ignition timing, injector fuel rates, and any direct sensor information allowing users to diagnose faulty sensors, monitor fluid temperatures, and view engine and transmission sensor data. PowerSYNC (coming Spring 2009) software allows large data streams to be downloaded to a laptop while the engine is running. This pass-through data allows for advanced performance data analysis and PID logging. The Cortex and Flashpaq products are essentially never out of date with regular, free updating of the units exclusively at Superchips.com. Superchips consistently re-engineers their calibrations to stay in-line with the new calibration files OEM manufacturers release and makes them available at no cost to their customers.
