Most Recent Posts Holiday almost here and gonePosted Dec-24-06 06:25:41 PST Boy has this holiday season come way too quickly for me. That and a few other things contributed to my slump in crafting. I cannot believe I let the whole season go by on ebay without jumping in. I should be ashamed. This year I concentrated more on collecting for my other addiction (dollhouse), than I did on my creating. Ah well.....am starting to get the itch to get prim and dirty again, and have lots of valentine ideas floating in my head. Can't wait to get started on em! I am also hoping to release my first pattern in January. She is a fabulously primitive doll. A little grown up looking, and has an heirloom look to her. The prototype has wings, which the pattern for will be included in the packet. However, the picture on the pattern will not feature her with wings. Any of you other bloggers market your own patterns? I would love to hear about it and maybe you can share some tips you have learned along the way. New Belindy DollPosted Oct-18-06 04:00:36 PDT Hope everyone is staying warm and dry. Its pretty cold and wet here in Southern Illinois. I love the rain. The cold can stay away if it wants to though. My sister in law is here visiting from Arizona. I think she might be ready to return to Phoenix weather! Here is my new Belindy doll. Not what I normally do. She must have been a wild hair or something. Anyway, I think she is cute. Happy ebaying everyone! New CreationsPosted Oct-13-06 08:31:48 PDT If you haven't seen the latest workings of my mind, here are the links to the auctions. Funky but cute..... This one looks like she belongs in the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. Maybe a gothic version of Rudolph, only I dont think this raggedy doll would be cryin if Santa left her on Misfit Island. With that crazed look in her eye, I am thinking she would get off the island all by her own somehow. :-) Happy Crafting everybody! Thank you!Posted Oct-13-06 08:27:33 PDT By the way, thanks to all of you for the kind words about my doll. I appreciate it. And thank you for the warm welcome to blogland! Time for Christmas Prims!Posted Oct-13-06 08:26:07 PDT Updated Oct-13-06 08:26:21 PDT Well my fellow prim crafters....looks like Winter will soon be upon us whether we like it or not. I am not a big fan of Winter. Matter of fact, I hate it. Now if its freezing outside and I can stay at home in my warm house happily sewing and staining (all the while talking to the dolls.....yes I know. I should probably tell my doctor that!!), and anticipating enjoying the soup I have simmering on the stove, then I am alright with it. However, like many of you out there, I have to deal with that crap they call a "job". Totally depressing to have to go to work when you are really in the mood to be sewing. Motivation waves dont hit me often, and usually when they do I have other responsibilities. Anyway, I am sorry to see the fall crafting season come to an end. I think it is my favorite. This year we saw all the round headed dolls with 3 dimensional facial features. Werent those great?? I actually tried my hand at a few. I found them to be a real pain in the butt, but often the end results were pretty darn worth it. Is anyone in the mood for Christmas prims?? I am not yet. I am hoping the urge will come to me soon. I have a few ornies cut out and stuffed, and a snowman doll, but thats about all the inspiration I have gotten for now. I think I am needing to try something new. Gonna have to browse all the patterns and see what's out there. If its one thing I dont need, its another pattern. But I cant help it. They call to me sometimes. (yes, I know....doctor again. :-) |
