My name is Barb, known to many of you as “The Purchase Driven Wife.” I have an eBay store and an online store of the same name. I have been eBaying as a hobby for almost three years, and just recently expanded to an online store. I sell many items that appeal to the average person. Some are new, some are preowned. You never really know what you will find, as inventory changes quite often. However, there are a few constants. For example, one of my main lines is anything “Gilmore Girl”. This is what I am best known for as a seller and I appreciate my loyal customers who share my passion for the show. If you haven’t heard of or watched this smart and funny show, give it a try and you will probably become a fan too!
The reason I started this blog is because I just returned from eBay Live in Chicago, where eBayers of all levels come together and learn more about how to succeed. One of the classes I attended (Blogging to Boost Your Business) opened my eyes to a whole blogosphere that I had been missing. I don’t know how this is possible, because I love to write, but I have never blogged! However, Mikal Belicove and Steve Lindhorst, having never met me personally, have quite possibly changed my life. I suspect I will be blogging for years to come about a multitude of topics! Thanks, Guys!
So, to get to the point, I have issued myself a challenge. I enjoy eBay very much. However, I have a family and responsibilities (like everyone else) and just do eBay as a hobby. So, I’ll just say that currently I am an “hourseller” because I probably spend about that much time a day on eBay. My feedback score is 654 and I’m proud to say that my feedback percentage is 100% positive! My DSR’s are also good. However, after attending eBay Live, I realize that there is so much more that I can do! I was actually a powerseller for a very short time about a year and a half ago, but could not maintain the status. So, my goal is to become a powerseller again by the end of the year, if not sooner.
I decided to start this blog to document my evolution from “hourseller” to “powerseller.” I have so much to say, and will try to blog often, but at the very least, it will be once a week. I invite you to join me in my journey, whether it is to observe, cheer me on or give me tips! So, here we go….. hello Blogosphere!
