How are You Reacting to eBay's Upcoming Changes?

As most buyers and sellers know by now, eBay's rolling out some changes...lower listing fees (counteracted by higher final value fees), lower search placement for sellers with low DSRs, discounts for Powersellers who have 4.6 (5% discount) or 4.8 (15% discount) DSRs in each star category, more stringent requirements for the Powerseller program, and perhaps more controversially, removing the ability of sellers to leave negative feedback.  While I'm not enamored with all of these changes, I can understand eBay's reasoning for many of them.  Over the years, fraud has become more rampant on eBay- fake second chance offers, counterfeit items being sold, sellers taking buyers' $ and not sending items, etc.  Not only has this negatively impacted buyers (who may leave eBay entirely after 1 'bad apple'), but it's impacted the 'trustworthiness' of eBay and sellers.

As with changes made in postal rates and eBay stores in search, sellers have to learn how to adapt to the changes.  Some sellers vow to leave eBay all together, but for now, few alternative selling venues have the large # of buyer 'eyeballs' that eBay does.  While some sellers may own a retail store or have another 'offline' means of selling (ex., I travel the US setting up at sports card shows) or their own website, it's not clear how many sellers can and truly will leave eBay.

If you're an eBay seller, how are you reacting to eBay's upcoming changes?  Are you changing your business model because of eBay's changes or are you going to 'keep on keeping on?'  What other changes would you like eBay to make?

If you're an eBay buyer, are you in favor of eBay's upcoming changes?  Will knowing that sellers cannot leave you negative feedback starting in late Spring 2008 change the feedback you leave for sellers?  What other changes would you like eBay to make?

No one likes the changes, but nothing we can do except leave.

I'm staying, but I've also expanded to a couple of other sites.

I'm not hip on the changes....I think lowering fees and then turning around and tacking into FV was rediculous....As far as the feedback....I am a buyer and a seller...I always leave feedback when I receive my item and I USE to leave it as soon as I shipped. Not anymore because I was burned....Only once but that is all it takes as I feel that is how alot of buyers are also. I have seen blogs where I saw alot of buyer comments stating they cannot wait to use the feedback change as ammunition against sellers....well in so manywords anyway. What was didsturbing is most of those comments were made by buyer/sellers with less thatn 100 feedbacks....

As a seller and a buyer I think eBay is totally offbase on this. The star system is horrible...just an other way for ebay to gouge fees while telling the world they are lowering costs...cmon...lower insertion a nickle and raise fvf 3%...do the math. as for no negative feedback for buyers why have feedback? If a buyer can use this system to hurt sellers with no way for sellers to defend themselves...what is the purpose? If there have been frauds commited on ebay and I am sure there have been...prosecute them....but for heavens sake make the system fair to all...not just to ebay...try getting an apparent feedback removed...not gonna happen...

Any class actions lawsuits against ebay yet?? I want in, i pay my fees just the same as anyone, I try hard to keep my rating at 100%. And ebay penalizes me. For no good reason, you get to many uninformed buyers and your screwed on your star rating. I already am at 4.5, so my search has been lowered. Not Fair at all, I pay the same monies to list as anyone else. I think the ebay giant needs to be brought to its knees.
