Shipping Costs

Have you ever tried to mail something long distance, to another state? Have you priced UPS vs the Post Office? The rates are high for both services.

I use the US Post Office, US Priority Mail for two reasons.

First, it's fast. The buyer gets the merchandise in 2-3 days. I usually package the item as soon as it's paid for, print the label and the next day it's in the mail. Most buyers are very happy with that and say that in their feedback.

Second reason I use Priority, is that every item has a tracking number. It is a confident feeling for me, the seller, and for the buyer. There is never a worry that the package wasn't shipped or didn't arrive. You can see where it left from, and where it arrived, when.

So, do you think it is more expensive? It's really not. It would be more expensive to ship parcel post and then pay extra for confirmation and/or insurance.

I usually add $1 to cover the cost for bubble wrap, tissue paper and tape. That's it. I don't think it's too high a price. This is not excessive. In fact, I'm not making money on the shipping at all. A seller can't sell something for 99 cents anymore. Ebay takes their fees; Paypal has high fees also. A seller could lose money and be giving the item away for free. Packaging materials and shipping costs are expensive for everybody.

You can check the shipping prices yourself. You need to know the total weight with packaging, the size of the box and the sellers zip code (and yours of course).
Go to http://www.usps.com/ and click on 'calculate postage'  along the top. Add the information and you will see the cost for different services. If you just check prices, you will get minimum prices and that is inaccurate if the package is a few pounds or going to different parts of the country. You have to 'calculate postage' to your area for your item.

So please feel free to question shipping charges when buying, but realize that the money is going to the Post Office and Staples, not in the seller's pocket.

PFALTZGRAFF FOLK ART

I'm now selling a whole group of Pfaltzgraff items with the Folk Art design. How did I acquire these items? Why am I selling?

Well here is the story:
I married a widower in 1997. His late wife collected the Pfaltzgraff Folk Art dishware and loved it! She bought everything, and every piece she could. She got the newsletters and ordered lots of stuff.

Well, in 1998 my new husband and I bought a house together. We packed up the dishes and stored them in a loft above our garage. I didn't want to use his late wife's dishes, although I did like the small bowls and certain items. Everything else stayed boxed and were covered.

This year, ten years later, I decided it was time to clean up the loft. I unpacked the dishes that I really had forgotten about. There was a treasure of great stuff.

I'm now selling the most interesting items from this Pflatzgraff collection. I will not sell the little bowls and cute items that I've used...only the items that I know a collector will enjoy.

So, have fun with your Pfalzgraff! Check out my items for sale. Ask questions if I do not explain things properly. I really don't know all about the markings or time periods of certain items. I will sell what I think people will want.

Thanks for visiting!

Scuba Gear!

My husband and I bought some new scuba gear this year so we are selling our "unwanted but still-in-good-condition gear."
Do you scuba dive? Would you like to become certified? Are you tired of renting equipment? Then take a look at our stuff.
You can't rent it this cheap!

Spring is here! Well, almost!

Spring is here and I have closets, an attic and also a basement with more items for sale.
I am upgrading my camera equipment since getting the Nikon D200, so I will be selling older lenses and some cameras.
Keep checking back to see what "treasures" I have saved in the last 35 years!

current sales

I am currently going through all of my sons’ toys from the 1980s. My sons (now 24 and 27) had GI Joes, Thundercats, Go Bots, Masters of the Universe, Mask, Transformers, Star Com, and more.

I saved everything and I kept most directions, blueprints, advertisements and free inserts and accessories that came with their toys.

Most items were put into boxes ten years ago when we moved and have not been touched. Some items had more play-time than others.

There are many items mixed, from the different sets and toy companies, so it will take time to sort through everything. If you are a serious collector, be patient.

Keep checking my sales for updated items.

All photos are of the actual item. All of my items for sale are my personal property.

My home is smoke-free. I try my best to be as accurate as possible in the description.

Please use the shipping calculator to figure the shipping costs to your zip code.

You may pay using Paypal, money order or personal check. Item will be shipped ASAP, after check clears. All other payments will have the item shipped on the next post-office opening day. It will be wrapped securely and sent Priority Mail. Insurance is optional.

Questions? Please ask.

Check my feedback. 100% Positive!

Thank you.
