Saw Green Leaves on the Willow today!!!

Very nice today--sunny and warm enough to work outside.  I trimmed and carted off yard trash.  We went into town and got rose bushes--16 in all.  We put out hay for the cows and brought home our old little ice machine and got it hooked back up and working.  We cleaned out the back of the pickup and got rid of trash.  I listed 6 items on eBay and we got the drain problem fixed.  Hung up lots of ebay stuff and neatened the bedroom and bathroom.  I saw two little green leaves on the globe willow tree.  It is supposed to turn colder this weekend for a few days.  The fruit trees are trying to pop buds, too, along with some of the pecan trees.  We have several pecan orders to mail out and some to do for neighbors and kinfolk.  Getting time to wind it up for this year.  My fifth-grade teacher died today--time marches on and waits for no man.  That means a funeral on Friday or Saturday.  Just when we are supposed to get rain and storms.  It should be in the church just down the road, so we won't have to travel far.  I have to make a baby afghan for a grandniece's baby.  At least I don't have to decide what to make next--just which one to make.  Probably have to buy yarn, too.  Our Dollar Store doesn't have yarn.  It will have to wait until we go back to Wal-mart for some good ol Red Heart.  Well, got to finish in the house and get ready for bed.

Keep eBaying long enough, and you will run across an experience you won't like--but just learn somthing and keep on going. Most eBayers are reasonable and easy to deal with and most transactions are good for both parties. I have met lots of nice people here on eBay and not many bad ones. My dad's name is Newt--I did not think anyone was named that anymore. He is 94 and only the second Newt I have come across.
Raining tonight and kind of stormy. A little colder, but not real cold. Spring can't be far around the corner. The daffodils are blooming and the hydrangeas are putting on leaves. New grass is putting out here and there and the rose bushes are sending out leaves. We will be mowing and tilling before we know it. Maybe it won't be so dry this summer. I did not do anything beneficial today--just packed up some pecans, looks like the last ones for this season, and sorted through some more junk that needs thrown out. I am a hopeless packrat. I bought a lot of clothes on Ebay. Great value, but why does a Seller pack everything from a size 2 to a size 24 in the same box? No way you could use them all. Now I will have to list some on eBay and hope they sell and pay those outrageous fees. I had a great Valentine's Day and hope you all did, too. Hubby is still hurt that I did not get him any chocolate, but I gave him my crocheted dolls I bought on eBay to put on the top of his dresser. He said he liked them. He is super-gripey lately.

Colder today and windy, but rain is gone. We did not go anywhere today. Well, we did drive the pickup to the pasture where it broke some part underneath and we had to walk home and leave it over there. We decided to close our place to ATV riding this weekend for good. Trash everywhere and riders in pickups thinking they can cut donuts all over the grass in winter. Then we found the pecan trees where they rode a 4x4 over them, peeling the bark all the way to the top. Some people are such pigs. It really will be their loss. We will lose the cash income, but only about half of the riders paid anyway. Now I have got to get over there and pick up all the trash. I ate all the kisses today. I love the new cherry ones. I need to make some cookies. I found an old recipe for cream cheese cookies that sounded good. I might try it tomorrow.

Cloudy tonight with rain expected tonight, tomorrow, and Friday. We had to admit Jason to the hospital today because of dehydration. He is on IV and expected to be better tomorrow, maybe come home. Maybe this is what he needs to treat himself better than he has. I told him one day he was going to kill himself. So spent all day in doctor's offices today and probably tomorrow, too. I need to set out the rest of my rose bushes and get the arbor trimmed up for summer. The lawn mower needs to go to the shop for repairs, along with the Mule and the big ice maker at the shop. We also need to finish the last of the native pecans and get them to the wholesaler. That will close out this season for us. I need to clean Jason's room while he is gone and get it liveable again. I probably need to wash clothes. I did not even peek in the laundry room when I got home. Just came in to make sure I won my auction, which I did--another angel book. I did not get my yarn put away in hiding and got fussed at because I had bought more yarn. Life is tough, sometimes, but the tough have to get going.

Rainy today and quite cool. We brought Jason home and went into town for stuff. I finished crochet work on my jacket project, but still need to finish ends. Now to start on baby afghans. I bought yarn today, so will try to get started tomorrow. That is always the hardest part. Maybe I will also get some housework finished and work outside a little if not too muddy. Got an ebay package to get ready to ship overseas. Mailed one box of pecans out today. The leaves on the willow are getting big enough to see from across the yard now, and more green showing on the ground everywhere. I have seen violets blooming, too. They are always heartening to me, so simple and so basic, but so tough and reliable, too. I wish I could be more of a violet. They are really not shrinking in any sense, except for being small compared to all other flowers. Hubby feels badly these days. I wish he could feel better, but I am not sure he wants to. He definitely doesn't want my help. I have been straightening my collection of crochet books. I thought I had lost my angel books, but I found them in the bedroom in a stack of stuff. I need to get everything better organized, but I need a lot more storage space to do it right. I need another house.

We cleaned pecans all day. It was cool and breezy, but not too bad out in the sun. We did not get through, about 3/4 through. Should be able to finish easily tomorrow. Jason got tired before we finished. He is doing well and eating heartily. We did not go anywhere today. We fed the cows and rode through the pasture. I worked on my crochet a little bit. We probably won't do much tomorrow, either. Just get ready for Monday.

Just a little cool today. We finished the pecans and got them ready to go out. Did not do anything else, though. I need to get my rose bushes set out. They are trying to put out leaves in the package. Hubby is so gripey. He had to have a fit all day. Too much drama. I think I will crochet for a while and go to bed early.

Sunny and warm today--just perfect. I set out rose bushes and went into town for errands. Jason was better and is eating well. Hubby is not better. We made plans to hold a weekend ride in March, but we have to get things cleaned up and ready. It is thundering tonight and will probably rain a little. No biggie--we have the pecans in the barn and the pasture gates are shut. For some reason, whenever we have a storm, the cattle want to come up in the yard. Our dogs get scared, too. The little ones hide under the bed or under the desk. I guess I should get up and finish the dishes in case the power blinks. It is lightning, too. I think I have clothes to fold in the laundry room. It might get too muddy tomorrow to finish the rose bushes. I ran out of good spots for them. I fired up the Grasshopper to shred the dead cannas. It felt good to run it for a while. It has to go to the shop for a charging problem, or a non-charging problem. That might happen tomorrow if Hubby feels like it, but who can guess?? Wait and see and don't make hard plans.

Sunny today, but cold right now. I set out all the roses yesterday. Plenty to do outside, though. The pecan buyer is supposed to come today to buy all the natives we have left. We will have to load the bags onto the trailer when he gets here. Then I have to go into town to get meds for my dad. We need to get our pickup finished and get it out of the pasture. No one is going to feel like working today because it is cold. Guess I might go crochet a while.

Nice springy day today, expecting rain tonight and sleet and snow possible Monday night. The weather is always a roller coaster ride here in spring. We did not do much today--got the old Mustang running again until it ran out of gas on the driveway. Had to push-pull it home with the Rhino. Jason's 31st birthday is tomorrow. He was a rainy-day baby then, too. We had salmon patties for dinner tonight and now the house smells like fish. I should have lit a candle for a while. I think I will still do it; it couldn't hurt and might actually help. I am sleepy, so think I will get ready for bed soon. Maybe I will get to clean up more trash in the pasture tomorrow before it storms. If not, maybe list a few more items of clothing and books on ebay.

Beautiful day today. Expecting rain and snow on Friday. The wild ride of spring in the South. All the trees and bushes are starting to show buds now. The rose bushes are all putting out leaves now and none too soon. Pear trees are blooming and the peaches won't be far behind. There is a green glow everywhere you look. We have to go into town tomorrow for stuff and drugs and get license for one of the pickups. I did misc. chores today--odds and ends really. Nothing fun except I tried to think up ideas for a waterfall in the koi pond. It has to be something simple and something I can do by myself with no help. Also, only using found materials so I don't have to invest any more cash. I need to get in the pond, so waiting on a perfectly warm day when the water is also warm. It was cold today since we had cold weather already this week. Maybe in a few days. I did get some bushes cut down by the front porch that had grown too large. Hope to get a couple more soon so it will lighten up by the house and expose the windows again. Some things grow too large and fast to keep close to a house. But garden and learn. I have been working some on the first baby afghan I an making--the one for our granddaughter we are expecting in May. It should be nice when I finish it. Oops, getting late ; I should be getting ready for bed before I turn into a pumpkin.

So nice and springlike today. Had to go to town and then to Doctor for hubby. I really wanted to stay here and work outside. Need to get flower beds cleaned out and get ready to set out annuals for summer. Need to get the veggie garden tilled up and start planting the cool weather stuff before it starts getting hot. It won't be long now before it is 90 or over again. I ate all the Hershey kisses yesterday, so none for tonight. I mayhave to get some ice cream. I think I need to start getting ready for bed. I did not have a nap today, so I am a little more tired and sleepy than usual.

Spring is here in full force. I set out dahlias today. It did not rain or storm, but some is predicted tonight. Actually, the ground needs a little rain to soften it for tilling and digging. I have been working on the afghan for our granddaughter, Kendall, expected in May. I need to hurry a little more. Hubby is all upset about everything. He does not know how to be happy or satisfied or how to co-exist peaceably with anyone or even himself.

Did not get much done today--No tilling, transplanting, planting, trimming, or raking, or pulling weeds. River is back up again and more water expected. Storms tonight and tomorrow. Hope no more hail. We did not get any here the other night, but it hailed on the Ford lot where we had picked out a new pickup. It was damaged some, but maybe it will be cheaper now. Jason is sick again; he had a swelled face from a wisdom tooth. He refused to go to the clinic today, so poot-tootie on him. He will probably want to go tomorrow while it is storming. I hate to drive in the rain or storms; it has become frightening to me. I got more Hershey kisses to eat.

Beautiful day today. The river is still up, but not dangerous and appears to be going down. Hubby is scheduled for a gall bladder removal on Friday, so maybe he will be feeling better soon. Jason has been sick for 2 weeks with wisdom teeth and other problems. I need to get out tomorrow and mow the lawn and do misc yardwork. We have got to get the garden tilled up and ready to plant our tomatoes and peppers. We did plant the onions, finally. It has been cool the last couple of days, maybe warming tomorrow again. In the am, we go to the hospital for hubby's bloodwork and tests. I finally got some clothes and stuff put up out of the bedroom this morning. Maybe tomorrow I will get out in the yard and work. Well, I have a box of pecans to ship to a squirrel re-habber and dishes to load and probably clothes as well.

Long week. Hubby ended up having a quadruple bypass today but is doing well in ICU. We did not know he needed one until yesterday afternoon. He had worked hard doing the garden plot. Lucky he did not have the big one pulling on that stubborn tiller. Maybe he will feel better when he gets home. He still has to have the gall bladder out, though. Hopie gets his side of the bed for a few nights. It might be stormy tonight. The garden needs a little rain on the tomato plants. Everything has come up well, so maybe it will be okay. I have got to finish putting a few things up on eBay to make room. It is really hopeless. I need another house just for my stuff. I have got to go and get things ready for the am so I can get ready fast and get out of here and to the hospital. That is like a job now until Hubby gets to come home.

It has been a long month. We have a new grandaughter, Morgan Jade, who came on May 18, I think. At least Hubby is doing well. He is getting up to speed on his griping about everything. He has done a few things already and looking forward to getting out more. I am fighting a losing battle with energy depletion. I am going to try to find out about a low-protein diet to see if it helps. I did make it through shopping for groceries today, which included Wal-Mart and the Save-A-Lot and the bread thrift store. I even straightened the house up pretty much after we got back. I need to finish the dishes and get to crocheting for my grandnephew's baby afghan. I made Morgan a lovely little blanket, but her parents don't want it for her. I think they are inhabited by aliens.

The cows got in the garden and ate the cornstalks. Tomatoes and peppers are okay. I sure hate it about the corn. We were looking forward to sweet corn. We may have to steal a few ears of field corn from the neighbor's crops.

I need to get busy and finish cleaning up for the day and get ready for bed.

Hot and dry today--just another perfect Southern summer day. We actually need rain on the garden and yard. I picked some green beans, but haven't cooked them yet. We're waiting on tomatoes. Hubby is recovering nicely, but he won't walk to increase his endurance and do just a little stress for his heart. Jason has been messed up all week, so he still feels bad and won't get out and do anything. I push-mowed the front yard patch today and went to Fouke to get a few groceries for my dad, who lives next door and depends on me to get his needs for him. I see a butterfly on the butterfly bush. We have baby birds on the front porch and the carport. I wish we could see the grandkids. We miss them, and I know Trevor misses us and doesn't understand why he doesn't see us much. Maybe one day the aliens will understand and be sorry. But I might not be around to enjoy that moment. Who knows what tomorrow might bring to us all. We need to live for today every day.

Two of our little dogs have become paraplegics with no real hope of recovery. I have mopped up dog pee until I smell like dog pee. My house smells like dog pee. We are going to have to get another washer to wash all the towels and dogbeds and doggie blankies. But how can we put them down? They are just like kids, only better. They love us just as we love them. They have actually adjusted pretty well to being crippled. They drag around pretty good. If they could just not pee, but they can't help it. I can't go anywhere. I am stuck here to take care of them. I am tired and need to get into bed to meet another day in the morning.
