Most Recent Posts The Old and New of a Colorful SpringPosted Apr-12-07 19:54:10 PDT One of my favorite things about spring is seeing the Bradford Pear trees bloom. The subdivision in which I live is full of them. Unfortunately, being that the Bradford Pear is not a long lasting tree (average of 15 years), many of them are disappearing. Being that my home sits on a corner lot, I, of course, had more of these trees that most other lots in the same subdivision. I’ve lived here since April of 1994 and one of my first indications that my winter hibernation should end was seeing the first blooms on the nine Bradford Pear trees in my front and side yard. Yet with the pros always comes the cons. Every year when April showers (and thunderstorms) work to bring So, this year we made the decision to put these poor trees out of the misery and fear of the winds that are sure to come soon. After a couple of days worth of tree surgery, our view of the world beyond our lot was clearly opened with a barren yard. Soon we will replace these bittersweet trees with the more popular Maples mixed with a couple of Weeping Willows and Magnolias. Even though I’m glad that the days of fearing a tree crashing into my home, leaving a large, open hole in the roof, I’m sad that I won’t have that refreshing feeling of seeing the Bradford Pears bloom without craning my neck to a neighbor’s who has yet to rid themselves of their home’s orginal landscaping. Yet, along with giving other trees a chance of living in my yard, I intend to take the time now to seek out a special spot for that beautiful flower garden that I’ve always dreamed of having. The one that surrounds a soft-sounding, steady-flowing rock fountain. And, maybe with some real acreage now I’ll be able to find a little piece of earth to create my vegetable garden; something I haven’t done in many years. While I’ll always miss the trees blooming, maybe I can fill my world with many wonderful colors of flowers and fresh vegetables. Maybe, just maybe, a bit of change will do me a bit of good. Pictured Above : M2MG Theme Freshly Picked Korker Ribbon Bow In the Still of the Night...Posted Mar-01-07 23:52:49 PST ....it's almost 2 a.m. and here I sit still on the computer. I should be sound asleep by now but just can't seem to get there despite the fact that I've got to be up in 4 hours to get the kids off to school. :( I recently started building my new website (www.ribbonforcrafts.com) and can't get all the things I've got to finish out of my head. lol And, our stupid cable company is busy realigning their channels, so it's hard to fall asleep to some boring movie when every few minutes the TV blue screens. Aaargh!
For My Buyers: In Case You Are Not Receiving An Email Response From Me - Please ReadPosted Jan-06-07 22:20:04 PST Seems that recently I've been having a real problem in trying to respond through eBay's message system with answers to your questions. As a general rule, I use eBay's system and email directly (when possible) but, again, sometimes those do not make it to you. If you have recently asked a question and feel that you haven't received a response, please check your spam filter to ensure that my response isn't there and/or resend your question directly to my email and I'll be glad to respond back by direct email. Thanks so much for your cooperation in this! :) Also, this is an update for some whom may not have received an email from me. If you have ordered an item containing Lime korker ribbon, I received the backorder but unfortunately it was the wrong size (received 1/8" vs. 3/8"). I have worked with my supplier and made this correction but unfortunately, the ribbon will not arrive to me until Tuesday. I will be sending out a new email about this to everyone with an order that this affects. I greatly appreciate your understanding and patience! What a way to start the new year, huh? lol Anyone know how I can monitor my child's cell phone txt messages...Posted Jan-01-07 22:23:27 PST I had talked with a techie at verizon and they had me sign up at www.vtxt.com to view his messages, but I have yet to be able to see any of them. Does anyone here with Verizon services know I may be able to view his text messages without him knowing I view them? Any info would be VERY appreciated! Is There Anyone There In Texas Going To The Cotton Bowl Parade?Posted Dec-30-06 08:14:33 PST My son and a friend of mine's daughter is in Dallas this week with their High School band and will be marching in the Cotton Bowl Parade and performing in the Mass Band performance at half-time. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that we're going to get to see either here. For those of you in the Dallas area, do you know if it's going to be aired on any of your local channels? And if so, which one? With sattelite and internet, I'm thinking that I may be able to get it somehow...instead of waiting for someone to bring a video back. lol |
