Remember The MissingThis Veterans DayPosted Nov-12-06 11:47:37 PST Updated Nov-13-06 09:56:37 PST This Veterans Day Weekend remember the missing in Iraq. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Their families have nothing to celebrate. Born July 13, 1983 Keith Mathew Maupin was just an average person. He was on the high school football team, but wasn’t the star. He wasn’t valedictorian of his graduating class. He was just average, like most of us are. But Matt had a love of family, a love of country, a love of God. He wanted to serve his country, and has done so honorably. On April 9,2004, his convoy came under heavy fire. Matt and another Army personnel along with 7 civiain contraters were captured. 8 of the 9 people have since escaped or been confirmed killed. Only Matt remains unaccounted for. His family struggles to get through each day while waiting on word of Matt’s return. Several days following his capture, a video showed Matt with his captures. He appeared well and unharmed. About 3 months later, another video was aired which reportedly showed Matt being executed. Officials have not been able to determine that the person in the video was Matt. Currently, he is the only person that is unaccounted for in the current war.
