Archive - April 2008 What the Heck?? Explain this one?Posted Apr-02-08 13:52:39 PDT First off, I'm a buyer and seller. I don't sell under this ID. Recently I bought an item (320229792902) and the listing was for FREE shipping. It was Buy It Now. I paid instantly. Seller cancelled my payment and sent an invoice to add $14.75 shipping to the total. I obtained the contact info and called her. She launched into a sad tale about how confused she had been lately due to the death of a pet and made a mistake on the shipping. I expressed my sympathies as I know how sad losing a pet can be. At the end of the conversation the agreement was she would honor her listing terms of free shipping. So I sent another Paypal payment. Then she refunded that one. I called her again. She said she thought I understood she wouldn't be sending the item with free shipping because it was a mistake. She hung up on me. I left Neg. FB and filed Non-performing seller report with ebay. She of course left Neg. FB for me. Then she tried to get me to agree to FB withdrawal. If I hadn't meant she was deserving of NEG. I wouldn't have left it. Then she offered to honor her original listing terms on condition I'd remove the Neg. FB. Then she filed Unpaid Report on me. I answered it with all the Paypal pymt info and the info about her refusing my pymts twice. Then ebay offers the buyer two choices: I'll finish the transaction and send the money..or I'll let it go and the seller gets the FVF. Where is the sanity or fairness in this????? A non-performing seller gets off scot-free and does not have to honor terms of listings if they've made an error (or apparently if they have a change of mind) in the listing. Ebay gives the FVF back even though the seller did not complete the sale in order to save $14.75 shipping. What a flawed and silly system. |
