Shipping Postage The Cost

This is a subject that has always got under my skin. I operate out of Canada so I don't know all the Postal Rates of other Conties. I would think that postage is pretty well the same or close to the same rates all over the world. I could be very wrong tought. As some exaples some people in the U.S.A charge $4.20 to send a stamp to Canada. There is no way that it cost that much no way.Are we in the business to sell stamps or trying to make extra cash in overcharging on postage. The same thing for the word HANDLING what a joke look we need to handel these items if we want to sell them. Do not insult me and say you are giong to charge me a handling fee.I don't care how bad I need the satmp or how good it si I will not buy from this Seller. If Seller can't make enought money selling the Stamps and they need to rob people on the shipping . I have one thing to say to them get out of the bussines and hope buyers will stop buying from them. But it's still you choice. We at The Dutchess Stamp Box we will mail at the lowest cost possible. If the cost is higher there is a reason and we will tell you why. Thank you

You must remember that all sellers do not sell only "stamps". If you are selling pieces of art that is encased in glass and weights 6 or 7 pounds, there is much handling that must be done. You will need to have it double-boxed, wrapped in lots of bubblewrap, and in many instances must have it professionally packaged in order to have it get to the buyer undamaged. This costs money.

13 ounces to Canada via USPS Air Mail Letter Post (the cheapest) is estimated at $3.95, 5 ounces is $1.70 (which is a low estimate if they use something to keep the stamp firm which adds weight) or 8 ounces which would be $2.50. USPS Global Priority Flat Rate Small Envelope is estimated at $4.25. While I'm not a stamp seller I am familiar with them and would guess that something like a hard cardboard or plastic holder would be necessary to keep the stamp from getting bent in the envelope which would add weight thus raise the cost. You can get your own estimates (I would imagine) via the USPS website at USPS.com.

I don't care what you sell on eBay everything has handling. Before you start selling what ever you know your going to have to handel the item. What would happen if you went to any store and they would tell you OH! if you want it in a bag or whatever we need to charge you for that. Why OH! well it's extra handling you'd be mad as hell matter of fact you probably would walk out.Well selling on eBay or wherever is the same thing do you want to sell your item well pack it up and send it.The packaging on certain item can be expensive yes but put it on your decription that it will cost so much to ship this item.If you don't know your cost well get out of bussiness. Why are we selling on eBay because we hope to make a dollar. Sometimes it's very hard to do it but give me a break we should not be here to make money on handling charges.Working for yourself is nice but many time we work very long and hard hours for very little pay. I just can't accept this handling charge Im not stupid I know it cost money and a lot for certain items.Put your cost up front so we know where we stand not after the auction is over.
