Blog Readers:
BUY GEAR & FOOD SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!!! Now, why would we say that?
- You've probably already been reading about food riots having occurred in several places throughout the world.
- You're probably already aware of the steady increases in prices for basic foods around the world, including the U.S.
- You've probably already heard about places like major Discount Warehouses (e.g., Costco & Sam's Club) placing limits on the amount of certain bulk food items, such as rice, that customers may purchase.
- You may even have observed, or experienced yourself, those bulk food items being out of stock at those discount warehouse, with no anticipated delivery date for replacement inventory.
- All of that is already pretty scary, right?
NOW, WHAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE HEARD:
- Paralleling the shortages and prices increases occuring on the food side...
- Are increasing shortages of higher-quality emergency preparedness supplies & survival gear products....and various storage products.
- We are especially seeing this in our water filter products...with back orders of many weeks, and getting longer!! The Katadyn Pocket Microfilter is particularly getting scarce.
- We're also hearing rumours--can't say from who, but reliable--that more price increases are coming across down the pike, soon, due to these back orders.
- Security-related items: We don't sell firearms of any type...but we do sell some special rapid-access mini-vaults for firearms security and home self-defense. We've been selling a lot of these lately. Whether folks are storing guns in them, or perhaps just using them for a "secure stash" for money, jewelry & papers, we don't know. We just know we're selling a bunch of them.
- Food Storage shelving units. We've been selling a heck of a lot of these, too. And why?
- Within the last two weeks the Wall Street Journal Editorial Pages has included TWO separate stories informing readers of uncertanties in the food supply chain, the presence of food riots elsewhere n the world, and the impact inflation is having on food costs within the U.S. Bottom line: WSJ editors suggest that now would be a good time to buy some extra food and store it.
- Smart & Safe, is the thought they're promulgating--and those supplies will be appreciating more than other asssets you might invest in, such as CDs.
As the old saying goes...let those who have ears to listen, hear.
We could well be entering a new phase of inflationary pricing of many of the valuable emergency preparedness/food storage (EP/FS) items that we sell. Even more important, they may become subject to higher demands creating scarcity pricing premiums on these items...meaning, you'll still be able to buy things like specialized, top-end water filters....but you're liable to have to pay a heck of a premiums for them.
BE FOREWARNED: we are seeing big price hikes and/or product shortages coming down through the supply chains...customers are well-advised to try to beat these challenges by ordering / purchasing sooner rathet than later.
Many thanks....and may we/you never face an actual emergency...but if we must, that we will all be prepared accordingly.
