Water Filters Are Selling Like Crazy

You can check my previous blog entry for the "why" of this situation...but here is a more little more detail on part of our prediction.

Water Filters are flying off the shelves, and manufacturers are running low on inventory!!!  We have been selling water filters, mainly Katadyn brand, like crazy. 

So have other dealers.  As of today's shipments out, we've just plain run out of the Pocket Microfilter...it is back-ordered at Katadyn, along with many, many thousands of others.

We have several back-up wholesale suppliers...and they are also at "zero" on Pocket Microfilter invetory. 

But wait...it is getting worse. 

We warned you several weeks ago about the Pocket MF shortage--that shortage is now full-blown and here.  Now, the same shortage patterns are starting to show up for the other Katadyn brand microfilters.  We are seeing runs on the Hiker, Hiker PRO and VARIO microfilters like we did on the Pocket back in April.  The MicroPur MP-1 Water Purification Tablets are also selling briskly...faster than we have seen before, and more than can be explained by the size and number of our sales channels and advertising budgets.

Just to repeat:  worldwide natural disasters are driving the demand--and thus the shortages--for these products.  With the recent events in Myanmar and China, on top of other demands, Katadyn is just plain maxed out on production.  Remember:  Katadyn is the filter of choice for hundreds of international disaster relief organizations and militaries around the world.  When a disaster happens, Katadyn will prioritize production and sales towards humanitarian relief efforts, as it well should.

Will these shortages last forever???  Of course not--supply and demand will eventually balance out again.  But that's not the right question. 

• The RIGHT question is:  will you have the water purification capabilities you need, should a natural disaster strike in our own backyard??
• Don't wait until the disaster/emergency has happened...plan ahead...act...prepare. 
• Be self-reliant in all you do...including emergency preparations.

You should plan and act accordingly to protect the needs of your family and/or friends...don't become a ward of the government by default.
