Collecting Toys and Models of American Independent Auto Manufacturers

What is more definitive of the greatness of America than the ability of a few men to start with little more than a dream and create automobile manufacturing companies that stood the test of time and competed with America's "Big Three". Most young people of today know little of these auto companies that brought so much innovation and great designs to the industry. Though none of these companies survives today, the automotive heritage created by them lives on in many modern automotive offerings! Throughout the postwar years, hundreds of models and toys were offered representing these makes...from Japan tin models which sometimes just barely looked like the cars they were supposed to represent to manufacturer's display models which were very good representations, these toys are a challenge to find! Now that the Diecast makers have made every '57 Chevy and '49 Ford we're finally getting some classics from the Independents! My display cases are finally getting filled with 1/43, 1/24 and 1/18th Studebakers, Packards, Hudsons, Ramblers, Checkers, Kaisers and more!  All I need now is a 1/18th 1951 or '55 Bathtub Rambler Hardtop or Convertible (or both) and I'll be happy!
