Bellaire couple win cash awardPosted Aug-11-06 07:48:08 PDT Bellaire, Texas June 10, 2002 Milton and Betty Lou Herrin are all smiles after learning today they are the recipients of their church's semi-annual cash award funded by the oil and gas royalties owned by the Church of the Seven Saints. This award assures full payment of all debts, including their home in Bellaire. There is a one time cash payment to them of $25,000, and for their two grandchildren Marvin and Ella Mae, four year full tuition, room & board at Texas A&M University. They both will receive $10,000 each when they are 18 years old. Milton Herrin retired from Sears in 1997 after 30-years as a tire salesman. Betty Lou (his high school sweetheart), was a homemaker. Milton is a veteran of Korean War in 1950-1951 and was awarded a purple heart medal for wounds received during the Inchon landing that cut-off the North Korean troops who had overan the entire country. He received a 2nd metal for severe frostbite at the Chosan Resevoir evacuation to the sea. His right foot was amputated in the field. He was in the 25th Infantry Division, Eighth Army. The Herrins plan to purchase a double-wide trailer house, and move to Waller near a lake. ![]() Milton & Betty Herrin This blog is not true. Any resemblance is coincidental.
