             Barbie dolls new in carton

San Angelo, TX       May 21, 2004

Death of Carl Stell came as a shock to his many collector friends who collect Barbie Dolls.  Stell died in a local hospital from cancer.  He was only 41.  Stell's home was filled to capacity with Barbies of every description including the popular 'Bead Blast kit,' along with almost every Barbie that exists.  His collection was once appraised for $40,000.  His soul mate, George Kyser sold the collection to a collector in Houston who was killed in a car accident.  The heirs to his property sold his home and contents for a very low price that unknown to them was worth much much more.  A buyer of estate sale properties, sold the dolls in a garage sale for pennies on the dollar, thus scattering the valuable doll collection never to be recoverd.  This is another example of lifetime treasures to one person, are not a treasure to others.  What happened to the 1950's dolls still in their original box?  Who knows.

The above blog is not true.

Hate it when that happens, but it is true. Garage sales are great for those who have an eye for treasures.
