Making Progress on my To do list while waiting for 35 cent Fixed Price listings

While watching the news about the hurricane I really poured it on and make three jewelry sets and two bracelets and created the webpages for each.  Once the 35 cent listing takes effect, on they go!

o   Amber and Garnet Adjustable Pendant Necklace and Earrings Set

o   Garnet and Ruby Zoisite Pendant Necklace and Earring Set

o   Moonstone and Labradorite Pendant Necklace and Earring Set

o   Large Cognac Amber Nugget Bracelet with Toggle Clasp

o   Large Mixed Amber Nugget Bracelet with Toggle Clasp

o   Graduated Malachite Bead Donut Necklace and Earrings Set

I have a beautiful smoky quartz pendant I will incorporate into another jewelry set, also, amber pendant and so much more.

I also torn my website apart and rebuilt it for easy navigation.

To do list while waiting for 35 cent Fixed Price listings

I see the 35 cent Fixed Price listings in core as a positive compared to having a store. So I've shelved any thoughts about re-opening an eBay store even though the third time is suppose to be the charm. I'm not too happy about the increased FVF but I can live with it. Rather than having a store and parking hundreds of items in it I'll like keep 25 to 40 items listed in core and park the rest on St. Elsewhere as I currently do.

So Things to do while waiting for the 35 cent Fixed Price listings to take effect:

1. Right now list a few items in auctions remembering how much I like selling at a loss and with free shipping
2. Get ready for the week-end market where I'm assured of making some money and handing out business cards for St. Elsewhere
3. Sorting and organizing beads as summer is flying by and it'll soon be time for my cross-county trip to my winter home and winter markets
4. Create more jewelry to list on Fixed Price after 9/16
5. Get webpages for #4 ready for quick listing after 9/16
6. Select a dozen or so Native American crafted jewelry items for listing for 35 cents
7. And most important, work on my website, not that I'd use eBay to harvest buyers; actually I've reorganized my website splitting it into a number of sub-directories so it will load faster. Now if I just had an in-site search feature!

Back in Michigan for the summer!

I'm in Michigan for the summer.  Actually I usually stay until Oct.  Fall is lovely in Michigan but once the leaves start to fall I'm on my way back to Arizona.

As for Michigan, I have a site in Sandy Pines near Grand Rapids, MI.  We have several pools, a man-made lake, a golf course and more.  I drive my gold cart to our park chapel, in fact, I was caught in a golf cart traffic jam leaving church Sunday.

I listed a bunch of loss leader items mostly for 99 cents with free shipping with dismal results.  So...given poor sales both here and on other selling venues and all the fun here in Sandy Pines, I think I'll spend my summer smelling the flowers!

Winter Markets Starting Soon!!!!

I'm including this post I added to a thread discussing anchor stores.  Gave me phase to compare the high cost some eBayers will pay eBay to the rent I pay at super winter shows.  I'll admit I enjoy my time in Nevada rather then spending the winter in my Quartzsite, AZ home.

Hope you do well chad. I think the anchor store was dropped to $299.00 per month.

You started me thinking as I compare store fees to paying rent at shows. Jan. 2008 is the Cloud's Jamboree Gemshow. Dec. 2007 is the month long pre-show. These will be held in the AVI/KOA RV Resort at the AVI Casino in Laughlin, NV. Space rent in Dec is $200.00 and Jan. during the main show it's $400.00. I do another show at the AVI Casino during March 2008 so I can stay in the RV part for $300.00 for the month. All this rent averages out to $300.00 per month. Granted that the pre and post show will not have the traffic of the Jan show, $10.00 a day will cover my rent. Another $10.00 a day will cover cost of goods sold. After that I make a profit. For the rent I have an RV hook-up, cable and can sell seven days a week. I roll out of bed about eight in the AM and my sometimes business partner has breakfast waiting. After that I take about 15 minutes to uncover my tables (most of my stuff I just cover up as security is very good) and pull the expensive stuff out of my car. I am ready for business. Late PM another 15 minutes to cover up, dinner and a shower and bed or if I feel like it, I'm off to the casino. Another plus is that I get to hand out business cards.

Due to caring for my mom late spring thru this month I missed all my other markets. I tried really working my Online venues and perhaps cleared fees (Online rent). Nothing to show for months of work.

As long as I'm still able to crawl in and out of my class B motor home it's shows for me!

Welcome to my blog!

I closed my eBay store Universal Expressions, however,  I list on auctions time to time so keep checking.   As for other selling venues, I have listed my handcrafted jewelry made with turquoise, coral, malachite, amber, amethyst, lapis, Rhodochrosite, rhodonite, jasper, magnetic, millefiori, candy jade, opalite and more. I usually incorporate sterling silver and gold-filled findings and beads in creating my jewelry. In a few fun piece I use plated findings and so note in the item description. I market the jewelry and crafts I create as "The Sara Jane Collection" combining Sara, the equivalent of my first name Sally, with my middle name, Jane.   The name Sally never seemed to fit my creative nature as does Sara Jane.

In addition to my handcrafted jewelry and crafts, I have an extensive inventory of jewelry crafted by Native Americans as well as imported jewelry including turquoise, coral, lapis and other stores set sterling silver. I offer men's and women's bracelets, rings, necklace, earrings and jewelry sets.

Although I am an eBay member to buy and sell in this exciting venue, I am very politically involved and a cradle Republican.  I even have a rather neglected website, thepoliticallyincorrectclub.com, that I add to from time to time
