Welcome to my new blog!

Well I guess the time has come for me to join the blogging revolution. I resisted at first because I didn't think I would have anything of value to say....and I might not but at least you can view the ramblings of an eBay store owner. They say that this is a great way to let you customers know who you are and to communicate information to them. So here goes.....

First, let me introduce myself. I'm Sandy Estrada and I own and operate (single handedly) Abbey's Attic Jewelry and Gifts. I opened my store in February of 2004 when I decided that I wanted to do more than sell the junk from around my house (which I did for awhile). I decided to sell something that I love.....jewelry. Mostly sterling silver but I am going to branch out into selling Black Hills gold soon. I've always loved jewelry, what girl doesn't right? Well I discovered the world of handcrafted Native American jewelry when I worked in a gift shop in a famous hotel in a poplular California National Park. I was taught how to tell the difference between jewelry made by the different tribes, primarily the Navajo, Zuni and Hopi. I also became familiar with the different stones used in each piece. I'm not an expert by any means but I continue to learn about the jewelry that I sell. In an effort to bring quality at an affordable price to my customers, the jewelry that I currently sell comes mainly from Tailand, India, Indonisia and Poland. I am always looking for unique items to catch peoples interest.

You should also know that customer service is very important to me. I believe that you should treat people as you want to be treated, with respect, honesty and a friendly attitude. I also believe that if you, yourself wouldn't wear the quality of jewelry that you sell then you should't be selling it. I hope that as you shop Abbey's Attic Jewelry and Gifts you will do so knowing that you are dealing with a professional, trustworthy, friendly person and that if you ever have a problem with an order all you need to do is email me and let me know so that I can do what I can to make it right. Also, feel free to email me at anytime with questions, I'm always happy to help.

A word about the name Abbey's Attic. I was looking for a name for my store that would sound like a physical place. I could have chosen Buddy's Basement or any number of names of that sort but my husband came up with Abbey's Attic, named for my cat Abbey. I liked the ring to it and decided to go with it. Since then I have had someone redesign my eBay store to reflect the cat theme and my designer came up with the cutest graphic that to me looked just as mischevious as Abbey herself. I like the boutique feel of my store. So many jewelry stores on eBay have that high end, sparkly jewelry store look that I didn't want to be another clone. So I hope you like my store and I hope it makes you feel welcome.
