The Launch of the Shuttle Discovery 05/31/08Posted May-26-08 09:19:17 PDT Dear Readers, I guess I have been found by NASA. My husband and I have been invited to the launch of the Shuttle Discovery as NASA's guests at Cape Kennedy on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Even though I worked as an Aerospace Engineer on the Apollo Project, I have never seen a live launch. 40 years of drought. I worked on the Saturn V Rocket and I saw awesome test firings. Did you know that 400,000 people worked on Apollo? The only ones you hear about are the astronauts, cap com in Houston and the Grand Pooh Bahs who led the project. Now, I am not talking about Dr. Werhner Von Braun. He was a really great guy and I was able to meet and talk to him. Those of us (the remainder of the teams) were the Peons in the Pits. :o).
