Microsoft's New Virtualization Technology

Microsoft will soon be releasing their Windows Server 2008 platform, and one of the coolest new features will be available in the near future.  Hyper-V is Microsoft's new hypervisor that will eventually come standard with the enterprise version of Windows Server 2008.  While the software is still in beta, you can still install it on your server and give it a try.  I have instructions for installing Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise on my blog at bitmonkeys.com.  Head on over there and check it out!

Introduction

Hello everyone.  I just wanted to make a quick introduction about myself.  My name is Boone, and I will be publishing various tips and goodies about computers and virtualization for you IT types out there.  My main blog is http://www.bitmonkeys.com and most of the information that you see here will be mirrored over there (or vice versa), so feel free to drop in and take a peek.

A little bit about myself:  I have been working in the IT industry in one fashion or another for over a decade now.  I have a vast knowledge of web application programming, and have as of late ventured into the network and systems engineering arena.  I have been working primarily with Cisco products and VMware over the past few years.  I currently hold a VCP in VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 and have been working with it quite extensively.  I use VMware Workstation and VMware Server almost daily and love the benefits that they bring to the table, especially when testing new applications or configurations.

Over the next few months, I will be passing down some of my knowledge and experiences in this area for anyone who is interested in reading them.  I hope you find the information that I post here useful and check back often!
