I purchased a very nice looking pair (in the photo) of Chanel sunglasses which turned out to be fake and a bad fake at that..........however, they were only 63.00 with shipping so this was my own fault. Therre is no such thing as 63.00 Chanel sunglasses. I am a person who detests fake anything, especially sunglasses and more so purses and there are a lot of fakes being sold on Ebay. But, I conceded to a bargain and thought "just maybe."
The problem as I see it is this. If an item is listed, even if it is the worst fake ever, as long as it is listed as "LV" or "Chanel" or whatever,it is allowed to be listed. If you want to list an item an a "replica" is is not allowed to be listed and I understand and agree with Ebay's position on this totally.
There HAS to be a way to keep people from having the right to sell these items listed as "authentic". I can spot a fake LV a mile away but there are people who don't have the experience to do this. It's great that there is a forum on Ebay to have other Ebay sellers/ buyers look at the URL of the item and give opinions as to the authenticity.
I think there needs to be tighter controls on the foreign or otherwise fakes being sold on Ebay.
