Recently, I have been receiving emails from bidders who claim to have won items. Upon investigation, it was found these to be scams. This is really causing many problems with the eBay experience.

It makes it very difficult to operate an online business with people who try to ruin it. I recently had an item cancel after someone hacked into a users account. After that, the hacker contacted me, spoofing an email from Paypal, telling me the item was paid for. It went on to say, the funds would not be released until the item is shipped.

I sent the email to spoof@paypal.com and spoof@ebay.com. Once a reply was sent back, it said the emails were scams. In turn, I lost not one but two sales because the actual winner went on to find another seller once he was outbid.

This has happened before costing me a good bit of final fees.

My advice is to verify ALL emails through the two above emails. Beware of shipping outside the USA, especially Nigeria. I have also found that it is very difficult to ship to Nigeria as well.
