TOTALY AMAZED HUSBAND WASHED WINDOWS INSIDE AND OUT

I am always amazed, he has never done this before, never even thougth he would .  He always had a job that he worked 6 days a week and late at night.....so it was never expected...

And on top of that, he is a young 70 years old.  Just got back from playing golf.

hmmmmmm wonder what else is in store.

Do any of yuu have a pumpkin walk?

In Shreveport every year one of the parks holds a contest for the carved pumpkins that kids do, and one night they start the pumpkin walk, all the pumpkins are lit and you walk through the pathways at night to see them.  It is bautiful.

I loved doing the walk when I lived there.

ok.. NEW QUESTION ...WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT

I recently read a book about happiness and success in life.  There was a chapter on doing what is passionate in your life and by doing that particular thing, it will bring you happiness and success.

Does any one here have something that they are passionate about or wish they were able to do what they are passionate about?

Night at the movies ALL THE KINGS MEN

  1. Last evening a good friend took me to dinner and a movie as a belated birthday gift.  Great dinner and good conversation.  Seldom going to the movie and not usually up on what is the latest big deal in movies, I told her to pick.

She picked ALL THE KINGS MEN, well it was interesting to say the least, I grew up in Louisiana, and have over the years heard, read and knew of the stories of Huey P. Long, so the movie was easy for me to follow.

My friend having been reared in another part of the country and living in the north (any thing North of South Arkansas is considered North to Southerners) was completely lost from the beginning of the movie and I spent most of the movie telling her what the heck was going on.  I had even see Belle Star perform in the early sixties.

The movie was fascinating to fact, fiction or me and at what point did fact or fiction take over.   The scenery was great and the depiction of Southerners from South of Louisiana was pretty accurate for the time.

The first making of this movie was in 1949, and I don't remember seeing this one.

Considering what is going on in our world today, what happened in Louisiana was small potatoes, Huey did give free lunches, free schoolbook, and built Charity hospitals along with a highway that went form New Orleans to Shreveport.  He took money from the oil companies to make this all happen, hmmm interesting how oil keeps popping up in history. He built many bridges that still are used today in a state that mostly had dirt roads and no bridges.  Fascinating time.

Politics have not changed much, just the subject matter, now we have sex scandals of the worst kind, involving children.  Most of it is swept under the carpet and ignored until some little person comes out and tells what is going on, or it is an opportune time to expose the underbelly of life.  This is not to mention without regard to all of the shootings that are taking place in our schools.  Sad state of affairs.

I am not usually this serious, but coming home to the news about what  is going on in our world brought me up to reality.

Think I will spend the day in my flower beds and clear my mind, smell the fresh air and work with the soil.
