I just saw a blog on the main page where the writer said she's closing her shop for now because it's too hot to work!  Wish we had a tiny bit of that heat here in Vancouver.  It's bloody cold.  And dark!  I get really depressed when it's dark and dreary.  Too hard to see colors properly!

Just working on collages today.  They seem to really get my creative juices flowing.  I always struggle with the first one and then other ideas seem to just rush at me, the "perfect" piece of paper or bit of ribbon just falls on my foot and I snatch it up and glue it on before it disappears.  I've just printed some of my own photos to add to a collage idea that's churning in my brain.

Better get to it!

Everyone else seems to have pictures and themes.  I've searched and searched and can't seem to find any way to upload images.  WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Well, this morning when my husband got up at 5 I decided that I would get an extra early start!  Hah!  Turned on the TV and dozed with the news filtering through me.  Finally staggered downstairs for my coffee at 7:40.  Another wasted two hours when I could have been creating marvelous things!

Yesterday I looked at the traffic stats to my ebay site.  There seemed to be a spike which was when I sold 26 things, and now down to nothing again.  What am I doing wrong?  When I look at my Etsy store it's the same, well worse really.  I've sold 38 items there in two years while other artists are selling upwards of 500 things.  Maybe I diversify too much.  I have always had this problem of wanting to be all things to all people.  When I did craft shows I felt I had to offer a little bit of everything, dolls, cards, paintings, cushions, bags, and on and on and on..... It was like I forgot that there were even other people selling things.  Now I do like to create a variety of work, it gets boring doing the same over and over, but to make some kind of a living would be nice.  Last night I deleted a bunch of stuff from my Ebay store to try and make it a little more cohesive. What to do, what to do!

Today I went to meet with my nurse practitioner to discuss my latest cholesterol results.  Still not as good as I had hoped.  I had planned to have a nice long walk to Value Village for the exercise as well as a look through all bits and bobs for some ideas to incorporate into some new work.  Decided to call a fellow artist to go along with me.  I always seem inspired by being with other artists and come home ready for new and exciting projects.  Of course I got home just in time to think about dinner, not enough time for any new creations.  They will have to wait until tomorrow. 

I have decided to submit artwork every month to the Stampington group of magazines.  I need to push myself and want to see my work in print more often.  I am working on "softies" right now for their new publication - working title "stuffed".  I love to see what other people do.

Thinking of digging up every plant and flower in my front garden tomorrow as some pathetic person stole my gorgeous huge pale mauve bearded irises sometime overnight.  Thought I was beautifying the neighbourhood but someone wanted them all to themselves I guess.

I love this!  People actually read it!  I find blogspot so hard to get people to actually look at.  I have it on my email, I list it in the Etsy forums every week, it just seems like such a chore.  I've had a couple of comments but they've been in Spanish and I don't know what they said.  Well, I think it was Spanish.  I think that was after there was an article on my Frida Kahlo dolls in the Mexico City newspaper.

I'm thinking of doing some dolls next week.  I've been concentrating on painting and seemed to have reached the limit of what will actually sell.  Of course, I paint because I love it not because it's "sellable".
