homesheba

mom is in Heaven

she passed away early friday morning about 2:30 am with me holding her precious hand. how i miss her so and it is so very very hard.

they sent her home from hospital cause medicare wouldnt pay anymore cause tecnecally she wasnt sick just dying . and no ONE told me about hospice so  to say the least it was a nightmare from the moment we got home.

she suffered sooo much the whole day untill about 10 that night i found out about hospice and they came as fast as possible for me to sign papers before midnight so medicare would pay for them... sigh.

then they left after doing what they could and i was left with mom gasping for air and then eventually passing on to Heaven with me reading psalms and praying and singing hymns to her.

i think that i can go thru anything now.

I'm so sorry. I lost my mother late last year and it was devastating to our family, so I know exactly what you're going through. What a blessing that you could be with her at the very end. We would have loved to have had that chance, but we trust that God knows best in these circumstances. God bless.

Sounds very similar with what I went thru with my dad. He passed away in 1998 from cancer. I thank God I was by his side. Hospice was about to step in, but he didn`t make it. God bless and be with you.

imagineart, if you're interested, go to cffamily.org and click on message archives. We've just finished a series called iPray that was really cool.

My father-in-law has hospice now. Believe it or not, he's had hospice for about 2 years now. He's stubborn - hanging in there! They are truly wonderful.

I'm so sorry. Hugs to you. I do know what you went through. I cared for my mom at home for two years after a major brain stem stroke. We had hospice but not until the last couple of months. I will keep you in my prayers.

I've been through this with both my mom and dad. I am so sorry you didn't have the benefit of Hospice's help sooner. Shame on the hospital and doctors for not referring you to Hospice. They can make this hardest of times an easier passing. Hugs and blessings for you and your dear mother.

My prayers are with you. Lost my mother-in-law in March this year. Father-in-law went back in 1996. Both had hospice care. They are shuch a great help. My wife, her sis and I took care of mom-in-law until the end. God in his awsome mercy took care of us.
