The eBay Blog Styler has been updated to add more features!

Many of you are already familiar with these features:

Basic Features

• Change the color of your blog.
• Add standard store-like headers.

• Change the font style, color, and size.
• Customize the color of most features on your blog.
  
• Add your own hosted banner or header.
• Add a hit counter from one of the counter vendors.

In addition to dressing up your blog with some standard backgrounds, and allowing you to add your own banner, the styler now includes these new features (they can be found by clicking the "intermediate" option on the styler page):

New Features (Intermediate)

• Separately change the font sizes and styles on posts and comments.
  
• Change the blog background color.
• Add your hosted background image to the blog.
  
• Add your hosted background image to the posting area.

Image Map (usemap)

Are you better at creating graphics than coding? Then you may find that making links using an image map is a lot easier than coding links. An image map is a picture with clickable areas that are linked to other pages or images. Hover your mouse over this image and you will find the clickable hotspots. If your "map" image is hosted online, an image map can be easily coded at this site.

An image map can be a simple graphic, as shown here, or it can be a photo montage. An image map is a fairly simple way to point buyers to your other auctions, or to complementary items, without violating eBay's keyword spamming policies. (Keyword spamming is not allowed in eBay auctions and is the practice of including words that don't describe the item, or including brand names in an off-brand auction, or otherwise describing items that are not for sale in the auction.)

An image map can also be used in blogs to point members to your other blogposts, pages, or sites. One could even create a clickable montage of one's favorite member blogs. All that is needed is some sort of underlying graphic. I made the graphics in this post in MS paint and it was extremely simple. Just about every Windows PC has Paint in the accessories folder.

Just to get the ideas started, here is an example of an image map that I created from a handful of the newest blogs (won't the owners be surprised, LOL). Some of you more creative folks could really go to town creating "favorite blog" groupings for image maps!
