Very tired parents with a little baby girl who is teething

Very tired parents

Hope our little girl sleeps tonight, not slept for 4 nights now, as she is teething badly at the mo.  We just want her teeth to all come though.  It will be a long time before she stops teething though as she is only 16 months old.  Babies are so tiring, but the joy that we have shared since we had her is amazing.  We keep saying to our selves that it wont always be this hard.  We have tryed nearly everything to help her ,but if anyone has any ideas which could help her please let us know.  Off to bed now , hoping to get a few hrs sleep before she wakes hopefully :-)

did you try just putting stuff on her gums such as (orajel -- the night time formula) also alternate tylenol with motrin. every other hour.

God Bless.

Maybe a cold teething ring.

Try rubbing her little gums with your finger.

also ask the Dr. if she can have some pain reliever.

The only thing that we have been putting on her gums is calpol gel. We have tried teething rings but she does not want to use them
All the dr says is give her calpol or calfrofen, but these seem to hype her up

This is what I did with my son & he loved it, and it helped.....

Take a clean washrag and put a small lump of butter in it, plus and a little sugar to it. Then tie it up and let em chew on it. It's cold and sweet, and it helped my son sooo much!

Oh it's called a Sugar Tit! lol! But it worked! :)

Hope you get some rest :)

anything cold! I have three kids with painful teething and a cold teething ring helped also oragel and motrin. It will get better- millions of parents go through it nightly! Hard to believe when you are going through it but it does get better. Stay calm and sleep in shifts- let your husband sleep awhile then you- sleep makes things better~

Baby orajel, baby anbasol or a local brand that has the same numbing anesthetic (benzocain?)... applied topically to the inflamed gums will work and will have no stimulants....infants have shown decreased reaction to pain if given sugar water. something cold like a popsicle would be good it has sugar and is a direct application of cold to the inflammation. The good news is.....Teething does not last forever, It will be over before you know it!!

teething is a hard thing to go through but it does come to a end. Sleep in shifts and stay calm. Don't let her get you irratated. Keep something cold for her to chew on. My daughter didn't like the teething rings either so I wraped them in a clean washcloth. She would chew on it that way. Try putting a little orajel on the ring before putting the washcloth on it. I feel for you, I was without sleep foralmost six months, my daughter had the collic, now that's a nightmare.

Our daughter is staying with her grandparents tonight so we can get some sleep. We cant take it in shifts to sleep as my husband is a recovery driver and on 24hr cal out for 5 days a week. The last two nights have been the worst she has only slept for two hrs each night. I thought havin children would be easy as I have been a qualified nursery nurse for 7 years but it is totally different having your own. I has been hard from the start our little one had colic for the first 6 months and then I got post natal depression. I have found it harder not havin a mum to talk to for advice as she died 3 years ago when I was 21 yrs old. Thank goodness the depression has gone, but we have the teething now. I think having children is just one thing after another. The good thing is though when we feel down we just think to our selves that we are very lucky to have a beautiful daughter as there are so many people who cant have children.
