China has convicted and sentensed to death their head of FDA .Possibly a scapegoat to save trade relations with the US. A couple days later, two US companies are found to be adding melamine as a binder to poultry, fish, beef and pork...even though it is not an approved substance. At the most people responsible in this country will lose their jobs and possibly face some jail time. Meanwhile our human and pet food supply has been comprimised and turkey is the only meat so far not tainted in some way. Menu foods claims they have lost 30 million dollars over this recall. It is sad that in their stockholder report that they do not mention all the pets who have died as a result of corporate gread. Please stop buying comercial pet food if you are doing so. None of it is safe till we get better standards and inspections. Boycott China. Plant a garden. Buy local and USA. Speak out for those who can not speak anymore. Today it seems there may be a link to the missing bee colonys (Colony Collapse Disorder) as wheat glutin and corn glutin are used frequently in commercial bee food. Not only has there been thousands of deaths of cats and dogs; contaminated food was also fed to poultry, swine, and fish. There is much evidence that this crisis is expanding to the human food chain as some of these contaminated animals have been processed for human consumption. Also many of the ingredients used are also present in much of our imported foods from China. It is starting to look like China may be trying to poison us. Certainly terroists are taking notes. There is a national security risk when the human food chain is in jeapordy. Our pets may have been the price for learning of this vulnerability. I pray that there is no link between Colony Collapse Disorder and the recent poisoning of our pet food. But if so... Einstein predicted that human civilization would last only a few years without the bees to pollinate our crops. I am boycotting China. I won't be buying anything from there, and I won't even watch the Olympics hosted there. I am not waiting for my government to disentagle themselves from this harmful country.
