Archive - June 2007 Patriotic Shoppers do not shop at WalmartPosted Jun-29-07 09:51:13 PDT China ships weapons to the terrorists in Afghanistan. See MSN.com for the full story. Wal-Mart enriches China. First it was the pet food recall, then poisoned toys, toothpaste, tires, and fish. How can we call ourselves patriotic and still purchase from a company or country that is ultimately harming us? Happy 4th of July. Do something Patrioltic; Boycott China, Boycott Walmart. If the lable says made in China...let that be your warning lable. See WakeUpWalMart.com for the connection between Wal-Mart and terrorism through Chineese exports. Tires from China recalledPosted Jun-27-07 10:55:08 PDT On NPR yesterday there was a story about 140,000 tires recalled that were sold to a US company but manufactured in China. The tires have killed at least 2 people (two carpenters). The U.S. Company can not afford to pay for the recall, so they are pursuing a lawsit against China. When I checked Pet Connection website, not only did they have the story about the tires, but apparently Honey from China is now being found to have a dangerous antibiotic. If it says Made in China, let that be your warning lable. Boycott Imports from ChinaPosted Jun-26-07 11:04:06 PDT It is becoming clear that our FDA inspectors can not keep us safe as they only inspect 1 % of the imports coming into the US. Not only has the Pet Food been tainted, but as of today Honey and Tires can be added to the growing list of unsafe products being manufactured in China and sent to the US. For those of you who haven't kept up with all these recalls from China's imports check out Pet Connection.com for the latest...as they are posting the recalled products at least 48 hours before the FDA. If it says made in China, consider that your warning lable! Pet Food boycottPosted Jun-21-07 13:26:29 PDT Please don't buy commercial pet food this week. Let us show the industry that we will not be tricked again into pretty packaging and promises of "quality" or "all natural". The pet food that was recalled since March is being put back on on the shelves in order to re deceive the public. Check out petconnection.com for the most updated information about the recall and the boycott. We want country of origin added to the packaging so that we can make informed decisions about which foods are safe for us and our pets. I won't be buying commercial pet food ever again as my animals are much happier with home cooked meals. Boycott Commercial Pet Food June 17-23Posted Jun-07-07 09:38:37 PDT As of yesterday there were 8 poisons detected in over 5600 commercial brands of pet food. The FDA is withholding the name brands of the most recent poison acetaminophen (generic Tylenol). The FDA lab findings are reported directly to the companys, but the American public has not been informed as of yet. I expect the news to hit the airways on Friday. Friday seems to be the day that the FDA informs the public. It is almost like clockwork. The 8 poisons to date are acetaminophen, aminopterin, melamine, cyanuric acid, amiloride, amilorine, ammeline, and ammelide. Artemis Cat Food will be recalled next as folks at Pet Connection.com seem to know the recalled brands days before FDA informs the public. Please join the pet owners who have lost their beloved pets and Boycott Commercial Pet Food June 17-23. Some of us will be boycotting the Pet Food industry permanently as we have decided our pets are much better off with home cooking. See petfoodrecallfacts.com for more complete details of this mass poisoning. Do not wait for our government to do the right thing. Do not jeapordize your pet friends life. More recalls are certainly on the way as they have been continuous since March 16. One of the blogers from petconnection.com is putting up a website to assist folks trying to homecook for our pets. The site will be up in a few days if it is not up yet. The site will be called homecookingpetfoodrecipes.com. Bless you all who have lost your beloved pet to this recall. And thank you for blogging until the FDA is forced to tell the American public the truth. Pet Food poisoning recallPosted Jun-06-07 18:27:47 PDT On March 16th 2007 the first Pet Food recall began. Since that time there has been 5600 brands recalled. The poisons are everything from rat poison, melamine, antifreeze, and Tylenol. to rice glutin. It is no longer possible to buy commercial pet food that is 100% guaranteed safe. There is to be an official Boycott of commercial pet foods from June 17-23. Boycott commercial pet food and show the powers that be that withholding information from the public will not boost their sales! The FDA has been slow to act and refuses to give up the offending company names. Until more pets sicken and die, they won't release the name brands! And they have allowed tainted food to be fed to hogs, chickens, and fish for human consumption, rather than dispose of the poisonous hazardous materials. They continue to protect the companys that have poisoned our animals. Not only that, but now human food is compromised as well. Join with me and boycott all commercial pet food June 17-23 Food Safety updatePosted Jun-06-07 09:19:34 PDT Not only has the commercial pet food industry been compromised recently by additives from China. Many human foods have also been compromised. Unfortunately FDA is not comming clean with pet owners, but are withholding information from the public, but protecting the manufacturers instead. If you have not been following the story of the pet food crisis please note that over 1500 brands of pet food have been contaminated. See Wikipedia for a complete list of all the brands. I wish I could in good conscience send you to the FDAs official site, but you won't find all the brands recalled there as they are contacting the manufacturers and keeping a lid on the information from the public. By the time your pet food is listed on the FDAs official site, it could be too late to save your pet. See Pet Connection.com for the latest news involving pet food recall. Pay no attention to the comercials on TV or coupons for discounts on pet food. At this stage in the game all Pet Food that is commercially produced is in question! Buy commercial pet food at your own risk. At the heart of both pet food and human food poisonings seems to be China. Our political ties to this country seem to outweigh the responsibility to the American publics food safety. The almighty dollar bill rules over safety issues. Sad but true. Please in addition to not purchasing commercial pet food, it seems that even Coca Cola (6 new plants) is being produced in China. Their water supply is even more polluted than the US so buy with caution. Also Colgate toothpaste and many seemingly American products are using ingredients from China. Until the safety of Americans is put above the interests of businesses and politics we are all playing russian rulett everytime we use a product from China or the US that uses Chineese ingreedients. It is worth checking out FDAs website to get the latest scoop on what has been recalled. The E Coli in the hamburger in 10 states was revealed on Pet Connection.com two days before the FDA posted it or the media. FDA hadn't posted it as of yesterday although the USFDA came clean. Deadly puffer fish has been canned under the guise of monkfish. Perhaps not buying any canned fish would be the safest for now. Thanks everyone for reading and commenting on my Food safety blogs. Wikipedia on Pet Food CrisisPosted Jun-01-07 08:41:27 PDT Apparently Menu Pet Foods sold half their stock days before releasing information to the public about the Pet Food recall. Wikipedia notes this as an unfortunate coincidence. I remember hearing something about that on Pet Connection.com. Unfortunate coincidence or insider trading? Also Melamine is made from coal. The FDA has not approved use of melamine in this country, yet two companies that make it and sell it to companies that do put it into both Pet and Human Food chain. If melamine is coal; then why should it be in my food or my pets food? What other heinous things are put in our food? Why should we applaud China for executing the head of their FDA while our head of the FDA has done similar things? I for one am boycotting China. I am also boycotting Americas Pet Food industrys products. Our own government is equally at fault. Also...it is reported that Walmart is removing the recalled Pet Food by day, then restocking it at night. How are we to trust our local grocery store to act morally; when the corporate greed that is responsible for this thing in the first place is going on in high places? |
