Most Recent Posts Don't waste a day of your lifePosted Sep-22-06 14:47:44 PDT Hi Guys. This is new to me as an old guy who waited too long to buy a computer, but having finally bought one, I have found it to be an invaluable tool as well as an endless source of amusement. I use my computer mostly for research and to buy books, both at auction and at retail. I guess what I'd like to say is priceless. When you are young, time seems to stretch endlessly before you, and when you get to my age(71) and my condition,(Cancer + six or eight more boring illnesses) you realize how much time you wasted. Don't waste a second. Try to learn at least one new thing everyday, even if it is as a result of a mistake made, you can learn not to make the same mistake again. Also, if possible, try to make one new friend a day, and help one person a day. Trust me this endeavor will make you a better person, and you will feel marvelous. I know ,I've been there, done that, and don"t even have the Tee shirts. But I've had so many experiences, been so many places, and met so many people, life has been rewarding to me. My biggest reward of course, is my Lovely wife of 52 years, Bettye, out three children, and our Chow Dog,scarlett. We take walks every day, try to read at least three new books a week, and in general, just love life. So get out there guys, get to living and loving life, and start reading more, you"ll never regret it. Jack (aka) the old professor. |
