How to Lose Weight Fast: Ask an Overweight Person?


Have you ever noticed that someone who needs to know how to lose weight fast always has the latest information about diets?  In fact, they're usually on one and they waste no time in telling you just how great it is.

You get a feeling of deja vu; weren't they on the newest, greatest, most effective diet only six short months ago?  Wasn't it the one that doctors didn't want you to know about for some inexplicable reason?  Or maybe something about a conspiracy by big business?  

What is it that makes the rotund try everything whacky under the sun except something that actually works?  It's almost as though they don't want to eat a little bit less and exercise just a little more, combined with a healthy eating program that's known to work.  If they did, and failed to keep to these, the simplest of rules, they'd be the ones to blame, not the "diet".  

They go for the latest fad and delight in telling everybody about it.  They talk endlessly about the virtues of living on Chinese radishes gently poached in yak's milk and topped with an unpronounceable Andean herb or some other such nonsense. The result is, they're always able to blame the diet for their lack of progress.  The fact that they frequently supplemented their intake with some high fat, high sugar garbage is quietly forgotten!  

They continue to tell everybody "I've tried everything but it's my glands", or at other times it's their metabolism that's at fault.  Their metabolism is unlikely to be any different from anyone else’s and the guilty glands are most likely the salivary glands!

There are countless products on offer that promise a sort of holy grail for the overweight. There are teas, herbs, pills, milk shakes or wafers. Books about eating different food groups at different times or even adjusting the diet according to blood groups.  You can cut down on carbs, cut down on fats, eat more protein, eat less protein or even eat only certain types of protein!

Some will even have you drinking water to the point of nausea! The torrent of pseudo-scientific garbage is endless.  

There's a new "discovery" almost daily.  Many claim to be "scientifically tested".  That may be so but testing something does not mean it works!  Something can be tested and found not to work, but it was still tested!  They all claim to enable weight loss to occur at a phenomenal rate - completely at odds with reality.  But, sadly, in spite of these weird and wonderful weight loss methods the legion of the obese grows at a frightening rate.

The truth is, the only way to achieve such spectacular results in weight loss is by amputation!  By the way, that's an illustration of the stupidity of it all, definitely not a suggestion!

There are ways of losing weight and not piling it all back on as soon as you open the fridge.  They will work for everyone and leave you healthy and happy with a much better chance of remaining that way well into old age.

The fact is, most dieters fail because they're hungry.  Yes, it's that simple!  You can lose weight without going hungry and without to resorting to the latest over-hyped clap-trap or snake oil.  There are ways to resolve the "lose weight without the hunger" conundrum and maintain sustained weight loss employing scientifically proven methods, but that's beyond the scope of this article.

We have at last got our flagship weight loss book up for sale, The No-Hunger Diet.  The intention is to carry a range of books of a high quality, mostly written by us.  We only want to offer material that is based on scientific principles.  In addition, we want to offer value for money.  No 12 page pamphlets or retitled scribblings from 1946!

A disappointment awaits those who are still under the impression that massive weight loss can be achieved in hours or days merely by consuming some sort of potion.  (which usually happens to be from some remote region of the planet where the inhabitants live to 187!)  The fact is, it's a dream.  The multinational drug companies spend billions on research and have yet to come up with a solution, so do you really think that the latest fad publicised in the popular press is going to work?

The only known method of achieving such spectacular weight loss involves the amputation of one or more limbs!

Seriously, there are diets that work.  The problem arises some months down the line when the weight starts to sneak back on; what could be termed "diet creep".  You see, most diets are only short term solutions.  When the hunger becomes intolerable,  all the best intentions go out of the window.

Our book addresses this,  and many other problems enabling the overweight to realise their goals.

Diet isn't everything though so we will be adding more to the store as soon as we can.
