It was quite an adventure, yet strangely beautiful. We're still hovering around freezing, but I have a single viola in bloom! I'm not sure how or why--but when the snow melted, there it was!I'll try to remember to take a photo of her soon. Otherwise, I was very blessed by my husband! He knew I was looking for a soap mold that wouldn't leach anything unpleasant into my all-natural soaps, so he made me a beautiful all wooden (un-stained) box with several sections! I'm having fun working with it! Blessings to you! Amy Happy New Year!Posted Jan-04-08 23:01:10 PST Updated Jan-04-08 23:12:26 PST
After the power came back on a week later, it was madness— I had so much to catch up on that I didn’t get back here to say Hello. But, it’s a New Year, and things are looking good! I’ve been working on soaps, potpourri & fixin’s lately— so I should be adding some primitive soap listings soon— Check out ~ Bear’s Best Blend ~ my hand milled Honey-Almond-Oat Goat’s Milk Soap crafted with care in small batches! Best Wishes to you! Ouch!Posted Dec-17-07 11:44:36 PST Tonight it will be a week since the ice storm knocked the power out. We have a fireplace to keep us warm & cast iron to cook in, so it hasn't been all that terrible. I am going to have a cooking hearth in my house one day. Sitting on the floor to cook is a bit odd, but warm soup can't be beat! Today, I'm at the library soaking up some warmth and distraction. Hopefully soon, we'll be back up & running. Cheers! Fireside NapPosted Dec-08-07 16:02:20 PST Updated Dec-08-07 16:15:58 PST The weather has taken the turn towards cold. Outside we have freezing rain, which makes staying home in front of the fire very inviting. I'm
working on making more Christmas fixins and creating more primitive gatherings.
I think I'll paint some spiced tags this evening & listen to some carols. I want to add more listings for the christmas present rush. ('tis the season) But the light is bad for taking pictures. Perhaps more primitive gifts on Monday. Be safe as you go about your holiday business.
