Summers can get extremely hot, especially in the southern states.  If you leave your dog outside during the heat of the day, please provide him/her with shade and plenty of water. 

A lot of people like to take their dogs for a ride in the car.  We pull up to the grocery store, and leave our dogs sitting in the car until we return.  We just plan to run in and out.  This time of year please think twice.  The inside of a car heats very quickly, and can become dangerously hot.   Thousands of animals are accidentally killed each year from heat related incidents.
