Happy Father's Day! What is a Dad?

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail...

I'm 18 with 27 years of experience.

Experience Counts

I'm 18 with 27 years of experience.
Who says experience doesn't count? Huh? Yea... I thought so.
Experience does count.
You always hear people wishing they were eighteen again...
and knew what they know today.
Oh... just deal with it.
You can't possibly know what you know today at the green age of 18.
Of course someone can tell you... and even if you listened, it wouldn't matter.
The true understanding of what you know now is a collection of events and activities that you participated in throughout your life.... a degree that each person earns individually. Each degree is unique as each person's lessons of life are different.
You are the experiencer of your own life.
If I were to give you advice and tell you the "to do's" and the "not to do's" it rarely may apply to your life. I could later say, "I told you so" or "you should have listened to me." Now, think about that.... how unfair is that? You cannot tell someone how to experience their life. You can give them suggestions and encouragement.
Think of it like this.... Picture a rowboat. Your boat is tied up to the dock. It is time for you to set sail. You have two oars. You are the motor. Throw off the bowlines, and push yourself away from the dock. You are now in control. It is your choice to to decide what you will experience. And you will use the experience you already have to make those choices. Your experience will come from exploring. It is a lifelong journey.
So, you're probably thinking... what's your point?
From a parents point of view.... my point is this. When you bring a baby into this world, you love it from the minute it is born. You nurture your child with love, and teach him based on your own life experiences. You build a foundation of morals for your child. This is where you are transferring your own experiences and beliefs. You watch your child grow and mature. It happens so quickly. I don't think we realize the whole concept of time until we have children and they grow. When they reach 18... we suddenly realize that 18 years have passed by so quickly!
We start to question ourselves...
did we do a good job? did we teach them the right things?
did we allow them to be themselves?
did we let them discover who they are?
build dreams?
give then encouragement and point them in the right direction?
and the most important question of all is...
are we willing to give them wings now so they can discover?
That is the hardest part of all. I can remember the most poignant memory of my father. It was of him saying... "what makes my daughter happy, makes me happy" and I don't think I knew how painful it was for him to say that at that very moment. But now, as a parent, I do know. Because what we want most of all is for our children to be happy... even if it is not exactly what we would want to choose for them. You still have to pin the wings on their shoulder and set them free.   ~Caroline Neff~

Sex and The City fans!

Sex and the City VS Indiana Jones?? Awwwh, come on... you can't compare the two. Harrison Ford is great! (even at 65) But you just can't put a comeback of the Indiana Jones adventure against Sex and the City! Who cares what the box office grosses... let Indiana and the girls stand seperately!  I enjoy the drama of the city girls...  and I enjoyed the movie!  (not to mention the fashion, the shoes, etc etc..) The people that enjoyed the series, will enjoy the movie.... and quite frankly, if you didn't watch the series... the movie is not for you!  I laughed until I had tears in my eyes... omg.. some of the scenes were just soo funny!  And then there were moments where  I wiped a tear away...

I especially cracked up when Samantha bought her little pocketbook pooch! how funny is that.... there are other scenes that were hysterical, but if you didn't see the movie yet, I don't want to spoil it for you!   and despite the friction between the gals in real life, you would have never known it by their movie performance.  Ok, it is a chick flick... and geared for long time fans.

I don't know about you, but so many times when a TV or Cable series ends... you can't help wonder what happens after that....  wonder what happened to the characters.. etc...  well, this film is  giving you the update three years later....  and I for one, enjoyed it!

Rainy Day Shopping!

I often wonder if there are more Ebay shoppers on rainy days?  I like to get things done around the house on rainy days... (then you don't feel like you are wasting a sunny day doing chores!)

I've listed a lot of new clothing items for our tiny four-legged princesses!  I don't make large quantities of clothing.... no sweat shop in my basement! that's for sure! Pretty much all my items are one of a kind.. because I don't like making the same thing over and over again.  I just like to create something unique... and I have to reach the shoppers that want unique items... and appreciate the quality of hand-made creations!  The truth is, after everything is paid... I really don't make a profit... more than.. let's say, maybe the cost of a gallon of gas! BUT that is for today's gas price... who knows about tomorrow!

Anyway, I would love feedback on my items!  I am going to start asking for photos of my customer's dogs, so I can post them on my page!  I would love to see a photo of them dressed in my clothing!

Happy Rainy Day Shoppers and Sellers!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
