Western Digital 250GB SATA HDD (#250258751209) Buyer bought harddrive from myself, the hdd was in full working order before postage as I ran a secure erase on it the night before. The postage used was Royal Mail Special Delivery by noon nextday. All seemed well, until the buyer contacted me to say the hdd was making strange noises, I was a bit dubious at first but agreed to accept the hdd back and give a refund. The hdd was posted back to me (standard parcels), but in different packaging and also took around 2 weeks. I ran a test on the hdd and sure enough it was making strange clicking noises and was probably going to die soon. I went onto paypal and arranged a refund for the FULL amount. Now I needed to make a claim with Royal Mail, after some searching I realised I wasnt going to be able to do that as I hadnt got the original packaging... Several days later, I received a message from the buyer demanding the postage costs they incurred for sending it back to me. So I said, if you can send me the original packaging, I'll put a claim in with Royal Mail and if successful you can have the £5.20 postage costs... Fair enough I thought... Well, they werent interested and black mailed me with the usual do as I say or you'll get neg feedback... Well that's what happened. Sellers now have no protection what so ever! I think I'll go back to using The Loot! |
