Most Recent Posts The New Orleans Way of LifePosted Jul-06-08 11:23:14 PDT New Orleans is such a mix of everything. Festivals and crime, artists and gangsters, black and white and lots in between those, coruption and kindness, old money mansions and tents under the interstate, creativity and despair. The way of life here can be a mix of love and hate. You can hate the city one minute when you hear about a senseless crime and then the next take a walk down a quiet French Quarter street smelling sweet olive tree blooms and the calliope on the steam boat twilling in the short distance and you've fallen in love with it right again. The ciy fell apart and we considered moving but how do you give up on a city you love so much? We are commited to helping to bring back to life this beautiful place- even if it just our small corner. Where else in the US can you find such and amazing architecture and festivals and hole in the wall places with the most amazing food and /or local bands that surprise you constantly? Things here are crazy and eclectic and sometimes make sense for the very reasons that they don't. If you are reading this and have considered visiting the New Orleans, please come down! We need the visitation from all over the world that slowed down after Katrina. I promise a local's guide to NOLA very soon to show you how we live and you will fall in love with it too. Cheers! |
