Most Recent Posts Filigree Rosary - Filigran RosenkranzPosted Jun-21-06 18:53:49 PDT Looking for and still trying to find the perfect Bavarian-style filigree rosary... The first was chained with English-cut red glass and a pink enameled crucifix. Nice condition. Age: mid to late 1800's. I have already sold it to another collector. The second was a 20th Century mother-of-pearl. It, too, has been passed on to someone else. The third & forth came together from Germany. One was rose-carved wood having a cross with wood and mother-of-pearl inlays. The other was green cut glass with a "leaf" style filigree endpiece with enameled inlays. Both were strung - not chained. The first dated to the mid 1700's, and the latter - early 1800's. Both of these rosaries have been sold to 2 different collectors. I bid on another very fine filigree with a medal at the end which was surrounded with filigree, and the beads were red coral. It would have been the nicest. Unfortunately, I was outbid. :-( Currenty, I am expecting a filigree in the mail from overseas. It is similiar to the one on which I bid but lost, excet that it is strung and the beads are golden. I will update with I get it. If anyone has any filigrees, let me know...
