NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FROM FIRST TIME BUYER

Well I am still bitchin' about the FIRST TIME BUYER that left me negative feedback!!!!!!!!!!  How rude!  I have had 100% positive feedback since being on Ebay from 3/2004!

My description is very detailed AND I have a gallery photo, a photo WITHIN the description AND the size/dimesions of the item is displayed/listed DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH the photo in the description.

I've written 3 very polite and professional emails trying to communicate, no reply!  As most, I work very hard at keeping my feedback at 100%, but I am so disappointed and now I am starting to get mad for someone being so incompetent and unfair!

Just venting - off to the treadmill so not to harm others!

Your feedback is still at 100%. I read the negative and I saw your description that clearly states the size. Why don't you put a response (NO CAPS! It just makes you look bad.) Your feedback is impeccable. It's clear that the buyer was at fault.

That's insane! I looked at your feedback and the auction listing and it's right there, BIG AND PLAIN 21" tall! What a jerk!! Have you left a comment for the feedback yet? I would! A buyer shouldn't blame their failure to read the listing on you!

Your description clearly states the size. I would reply back on the feedback that auction does state size. State it in a factual way so that it makes you look good.

I wouldn't worry. I'm still waiting for my first negative. I've came close a time a two but it was because the description was not read thoroughly by the buyer. Took care of it before through email though. Had to refund one person part of payment because she wasn't satisfied with some yarn. When I have bidders or if I'm buying I do look at feedback and the negatives. But I use my own judgement and see what circumstances are for the negative. Most people use common sense and can see what might have occurred, so rest easy, I don't think any damage done. Keep up the good work.

It is very hard when you are dealing with people.....to expect 100% all the time.....but when it is clearly stated what the size is and that is what they actually got..well then they have the hateful, will complain about anything...views on life!! I agree no CAPS response clearly stating the size is posted in listing and uuuummmmm 21 inches is LARGE!!!

I would surely add a reply to the negative. 21" is clearly stated. Why don't buyers get out a ruler and LOOK at what 21" is before buying/complaining. Very unfair feedback.

The customer paid over $100 and is upset that it's too big? Sounds like someone created an ID just to give you the neg. Retaliation. For what? Who knows!

My feedback is automated, so once a buyer pays, positive feedback is left for the customer. I am going to make one more attempt to contact the Buyer before I post a reply to her negative post. I will "post with kindness" - best way to handle I know is to - "kill 'em with kindness" - but trust me I am biting my tongue on this one! I even offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, she could have simply returned the item for a full refund of the purchase price.

And although my feedback still reflects 100%, I don't think Ebay has adjusted the % yet. I know this is minor to some, but I am just bothered by the fact that someone has the audacity to be so unfair. And get this, it was a gift and sent to someone else, so the Buyer has not even personally (to my knowledge) seen the item! I think I might agree with brandi*s findsofthweek above, - someone creating an ID just to leave negative feedback!

Well it's obvious that the buyer can't read.
Sometimes buyers make a mistake - I had that once - she meant to leave negative for someone else and she corrected the situation once she realized she'd made a mistake. Maybe you could get their contact information and give them a call to discuss it.
You can change that automated feedback - under your ebay settings just check the box that says leave positive feedback after they buyers pays and leaves positive feedback.
Don't be surprised if you get another negative or neutral in the coming days. Sometimes seeing a recent negative gives other buyers the feeling that they should be less than satisfied and leave a bad feedback comment too. IT's weird.
Also........I would respond right away so other buyers know that you didn't do anything wrong. Say something like - the listing says 21 inches, etc.
It's only one negative - and people won't pay any attention to it once it falls off the first page and the first month, don't let it ruin your day. It's extremely frustating when buyers leave negative feedback without trying to solve the problem beforehand. Breathe deep and carry on.

Thanks everyone. I did post a reply to the customers feedback: Unfair comment Gallery photo, size-21" & photo in listing 4 emails no reply AND one negative remark is enough to make me change my automated feedback! I applied to Ebay to have the negative feedback removed. A reason code allowed was "Buyer created an ID for the sole purpose of leaving negative feedback". I feel fairly confident this may be the case.

Hi there! This is my first post to an ebay blog! I also sell plush and collectibles, and it's so nice to meet a fellow ebayer who appreciates plush. It's always such a happy sale!

I myself have experienced my first ebay idiot in the last few months, and learned quite a bit about the process. I had moved while waiting for this lady's money order for a $10 item.... I emailed her that I was having trouble locating it in storage, she said okay. I couldn't find it in any of my three storage units, and offered her a refund ~ she declined expecting me to honor her best offer. I finally found it, sent her 4 free gifts valued at $25 in addition to her item, and she leaves the Negative after I assured her it was mailed and sent delivery tracking nubmer, before the package arrives! She was a case from the start and I couldn't win.

Fortunately, you have lot's of terrific feedback and she's buried almost 200 comments down the road! It was good that you replied to her negative comment ~ as potential buyers will see the light, all they have to do is click on the listing, but soon they will no longer be able to,... so you have AT LEAST one more chance to leave a comment: You get to post a follow up comment to YOUR feedback comment that you left for her on her feedback page, regardless if the comment you left was positive or negative! Here's the link: http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback.html and click on follow up to feedback left. Choose your words carefully and be professional... but don't be too nice either.... clearly state something to the effect of ~ Item Size clearly stated & we offer refund if not 100% happy ~ buyer never emailed (or no buyer contact). This first time buyer probably doesn't have a clue that YOU are able to do this and she thinks because you have already posted feedback, she is safe from bringing this to light on HER feedback page. Hurry and do this so that she may find that you have done so before responding to your request fo

HELLO AGAIN!

So when you file your dispute with Square Trade, know that your first communication of the details of your transaction with her she will view! So choose your words knowing that she will read this as well. After one of you select to use a mediator, your messages will go directly to the mediator and she cannot view them and you can then speak freely. In my case, the mediator quickly realized that nothing would make her happy, she just wanted to punish me for the delay, and wasn't even willing to agree to mutual feedback withdrawal, and she wrote him that she thought I should be punished. He closed the case after three days of her crazy emails telling her that she was not proceeding in good faith! I waited 30 days or so before even leaving her a negative, to approach her about feedback removal and give her some cooling off time. I really don't even like giving this lady this much energy, but I wanted to share with you that you are not alone, some people can't be helped, and it's just not your fault. I hope that you are successful in your endeavors to get this rating withdrawn one way or the other.

Also, I read in a post above that you thought your percentage had not been changed yet.... Your feedback score is correct, and the percentage should be 100%. I am a member of the Dallas Ebaybes and Emales MeetUp Group, and we have 250 members! We are a very organized group that meet twice a month, we exchange ideas, and train other ebayers. Ebay sent 9 staff members to Dallas, Texas just to speak to our group from various departments on August 22nd, 2006! You can read about it on ebay Community ~ August! At the Q&A session, I inquired as to how many feedbacks a user needed to get their 100% back??? One of the staffers was Sarah Brubacher from ebay Canada, & she checked on it for me and emailed after she retuned to Canada. It takes 2000 positive feedbacks to return your rating to 100%!! But this figure has to be Members who left a positive w
