If you receive over $3,000 or more per month in payments in your PayPal account, PayPal will give you a discounted rate.  BUT you have to ask, or apply for the discount.  It does not happen automatically.  The standard rate is 2.9%.  If you qualify, the discounted rate is 2.5%.  It's quick, easy and simple - all you need to do is:

Log in to your PayPal account

Click the Fees link at the bottom of the page

In the "Receive Funds" row of the displayed table, click the link the Premier/Business Account column

Click the "Merchant Rate Criteria" link near the bottom of the page

Click "Appy Now" at the bottom or the rate criteria page

Fill out the Merchant Rate app (this may already be done, you may be able to skip this step)

Check the box to indicate you have read and agree to the terms of the User Agreement

Click Submit

It only takes a second and you should receive an acceptance email almost immediately!
