Goats~Goats~Goats~

What can I say about them, especially Angoras, with there quirky personalities, better then you attitude.  They truly are a Caprine Creation.  Whether you like the white ones or the many different colors available, there is something for everyone.  Kid fiber, or yearling, or adult its all wonderfully soft, luscious, and shiny.

Our animals are registered with CAGBA(colored goat breeders assoc), and get the best of care, and in turn they provide me with great fiber to wash, dye, spin, knit, weave, or sell as doll hair.  We always have available white, red, black, brown, or various shades.  They come in so many different colors and types.  Some are even, pintos, belted,  &"reverse badgers".

Kidding us always fun as you may sometimes be surprised as to what color will come out, maybe you were expecting a red from 2 red parents and out pops a black,  never a dull moment.  But its all about the fiber.  Kid or yearling or adult,  "its all good" and can be used in so many different ways.  Felting or spinning, weaving,  whatever venue you have its Mohair friendly.

As we start into kidding season, actually we already have.  That is one of the most and least favorite times of the year for me.  Most years there are rarely problems but then when you are dealing with animals, you never know.  I always breathe a sigh of relief when kidding is over and everyone is healthy and doing fine.  We lost one kid already this year, but her sister is fine and we are thankful.  Mom is well too.  We still have 4 does left to kid in mid March, then we are done for the year.  Lord Willing and the bucks stay where they belong.  I like March kids as the weather is starting to warm and frostbite is not so likely.  It get Cold here and Jan is no fun to be out with a doe who is trying to deliver kids.  I got 3 rescue does in November and the day after I got them one decided to kid and 4 days later the others followed suit.  I knew they were eminent, and was glad I got the kidding pens ready earlier.  They are all doing well.  If you are not careful your herd can double or Triple in a hurry.
