Our local builders recently held their Parade of Homes. Basically, it's a county-wide open house for all the new homes, featuring the new subdivisions. Also, the builder's have a featured show home. Our shutters were featured on the show home.

The shutters were a stained panel cedar shutter...Very different looking, but everyone seemed to love them. You can see them in our image gallery at our site.

The big thing about this new developement is that most of the homes are featuring board and batten shutters... kind of a new thing in our local area. Most of the homes cost around $1.5M...that's still pretty expensive for our area where the average home is around $200K.

Anyway I have added a few new photos to our image gallery so you can see the cedar panel shutter and several of the board and batten shutters.

    Bahama Shutters are more popular than ever, some call them Bermuda Shutters. After Hurricane Katrina many areas around the gulf coast are updating their building codes  to require window protection. Many are choosing Bahama shutters as their preference for window protection.

Offline we offer unfinished, primed, and stain-grade.

From what I can see, offering an unfinished red cedar exterior shutter my be the best option.

Cedar Shutters are extremely weather resistant and more attractive than a pine shutter.

Anyway... I should have about 20 standard-sized louvered cedar shutters in our eBay inventory.

I sell shutter dogs and  I still have no idea where the name shutter dog originated. BTW, a shutter dog is a exterior window shutter tie back.


So where did the term shutter dog originate?  Anyone?... Anyone?.... Bueller?.... Bueller?
