Many of you have asked why certain dolls are priced that way and what is a reborn?

A reborn is where someone, usually a artist, takes a plain doll and trandforms them into something BEAUTIFUL!

They add hair or change hair color, change eye shape and color, add eyelashes, add eye brows, paint blush marks on the bodies, paint their nails, add weight by inserting pellets, add magnetic pacifiers, etc…

Then they make or buy a great outfit, socks or stockings, tiny life like shoes,and other tiny accessories like baby bottles, rattles, toys, dollies etc…

The finished product is what is called a Reborn! And most of them are OOAK, One of a Kind!

An important thing about reborns is that the finished products costs a lot more, but most of the time very few are made and you can have a doll no one else does!

I have seen my tiny 5” Berenguer Dolls turn into Reborns that have
fetched over $100.00! And I am NOT kidding! I have a picture of one someone else did.

An important thing to remember is that the artist took a long time making her reborn, and just because she listed it on eBay does not mean she does not deserve a fair price.

Consider this, then think if it is not worth every penny.

On average,

Glass eyes can cost $10-$25

Hand rooted hair can cost $10-$15 then artist need to hand root each piece!!

Dolly wigs-sometimes VERY hard to find and can cost from $5-$20 a piece

Socks and Tights- $3-$5- they can cost the same and buying them for a real child

Tiny Shoes- $5-$15- tiny doll shoes can cost as much as a pair of adult shoes at Wal-Mart

Eyelashes and Eye Brows cost about $2-$3 a doll

Genisis Paints aren’t cheap either

Plus the cost of pacifiers, baby bottles, rattles and other tiny accessories

Then they need clothes! Handmade outfits are $6-$15.00 each

Oh, did I mention you need to buy the doll first !!!

So next time you see a Reborn on eBay and it may be out of YOUR price range, just tell the artist she did a great job!

Here I go again, fighting my way back! You would think that having cancer twice and survived would be the end of my health problems, but it's not.

In November, during my Christmas rush, I have a mini stroke.

But I am not letting it stop me now! Come on now!!

Back in November,2000 my doctors gave me two months to live. I had my first cancer and it was stage 4 (the worst). And I am still here!!!

I'm not going any where, I may be a bit slower but I am here!
